Their only negative is their sales pitch of trying to sell guests something featured on the board, the staff were friendly and helpful and wanted to know if we enjoyed our meal. The chain and food is definitely over rated (including by my other half who had been to fishworks before a few times) and over priced).

The meal I ordered was a bit over cooked and quite tasteless, but it was ok. My girlfriend and I spent about £90 on a meal for two that I could have put together for about £15 including the fish. I would probably go back but maybe would try another branch where the area is cleaner.

Had a lovely meal in Fishworks on a fairly busy Friday night. The service was excellent, both attentive and informative, and very different to what we were expecting having read previous reviews on this site.

We've been to Fishworks on several occasions, in several locations, and we are always impressed with the quality of the food. We decided to finish our meal by sharing a cheese platter. The serving was so large that I had to get confirmation from the waitress that it was in fact just the one portion we had ordered and they hadn't cheekily given a double portion on one plate hoping we wouldn't notice.

went for lunch on saturday, average food, service seemed bored and uninterested, then service added to bill which is so lazy. Islington has so many better restaurants. Rubbish.

Lunched there yesterday and made the mistake of ordering the lobster and chips special. Small, stale Canadian half lobster with very poor chips, sans succulence. Service ok and cheapest French wine very good. Don't get the feeling that anyone's heart is in the running of this place.

This is incredible! The food is delicious, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere wonderful. Only tiny complaint is the value for money- a little overpriced?!

But I would definitely recommend it.

I was charged £1.50 each for oysters to take away! More than it is to sit in and eat 12!! I was totally put off by that. They were the same size I normally pay 55p for at my local fishmonger.

I have never felt compelled to write a review before but then I have never dined at Fishworks. Never eaten anything so overpriced and overcooked...inedible food that we complained about and they still expected us to pay for. The waitress was rude, the manager polite but did nothing to help. We had wafts of chip fat from the kitchen all through dinner and the bill that came up would be expected at a Michelin starred restaurant. Avoid at all costs.

We had a nice evening with great food at fishworks. I can agree with some of the comments about things being pricey but the quality of the food was very good. The four of us had a sea bass baked in a salt crust, which was delicious. The wine was simple but good, again a bit pricey for the quality. Service was very nice, friendly and attending. Overall a nice experience even given it's a chain, but a bit expensive for what you get.

Great for a special occasion. Todd is excellent at his job and was most welcoming. Not the cheapest of places but I suppose you are paying for the quality.

Fantastic way to spend a sunny Saturday.

Took a party of 6 friends here last week and it was really excellent. The staff, particularly the manager, were the best. Some of the other restaurants nearby should watch out because he makes you want to come back. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night but it didn't matter. The food was really tasty, such fresh fish is hard to find, it is often either smothered with some rich sauce or has suffered from being frozen, not so here though apparently and I enjoyed a piece of pollack from Brixham in Devon (as local as you can get for fish in the UK) and the Brixham sauteed squid to start, perfectly cooked. And if that doesn't do it for you, then just go for the sticky toffee pudding, which is possible to manage after the sort of starters and main courses that don't give you that over full feeling. I'm in Christchurch next month and looking forward to trying the Fishworks here.
