Used to be a good restaurant when it was on the Kew Road. Now its like eating in a Zepplin hanger. Noisy and like a kindergarden - particularly on weekends.

Hell on earth - but the burgers are good!

I visited this restaurant for dinner last night with a friend as she had a 'buy one get one free' voucher for our main meal. What better time to try it?

Was a fantastic visit. service fantastic and the food was very tasty. Waitress was lovely and was very helpfull in helping us choose what to have!

Great views over river, we sat on the outside balcony which has plenty of tables and also heaters for the evening.

Will definately visit again.

I recently visited this restaurant with my 3 friends. We were greeted by a lovely young lady at the door and promptly shown to our table. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, even though it was very busy. Our drinks arrived in good time and our starters soon followed. (The spicy chicken wings were excellent).

Just as we finished our starters our waiter cleared them away and asked if we were ready for our main course, we said yes, and about 10 mins later they arrived. My burger was fresh and cooked perfectly, right down to the crispy bacon i asked for. My friends steak was big and seemingly delicious as well.

When we were done our waiter offered us dessert which we politely declined, but we opted for coffee which was very nice (lavazza).

We asked for the bill and it was brought to us with no fuss, and our waiter even spared a few minutes to have a quick chat with us as our cards were processed.

All in all we had a lovely time and would recommend Tootsies Richmond to everyone. We will definately be back.

I visited the tootsies resturant on 14th April with 3 of my friends. My friend booked the table for the evening after myself recommending it as a great resturant to eat at, having been to another tootsies in Chiswick.

Well I could not believe how awful the service was. We sat there for at least 15 mins before they took our drinks order and another 20 mins before we actually got our drinks. The two tables next to us were also recieving awful service, starters coming out then the main course while people were still eating their starters. By the time we ordered our food we had been there for nearly an hour. Food came reasonably quick. Food taste average. My friend actually suffered from an upset stomach over the next few days, which is probably the cause of the food although cannot say exactly.

We had ordered our second lot of drinks and they were sat on the bar untilo we had finished our meals. This seemed pretty pointless having our drinks after we had frinished eating.

No one apolgised for the delay. The toliets were disgusting. The whole evening was spolit from choosing this resturant to eat. I will definitely not be going there again!!

A group of 5 of us went to Tootsies on a wednesday around 7, and it wasnt exactly that busy. Yes we still had to ask 3 seperate waitors to take our order. I can only describe the service as poor at best. Its as if we weren't even there. When we asked the bar staff why our drinks hadn't arrived after 10 mins of ordering, she informed us she didnt even know about the order. The food was nothing to shout about. And my burger had been packed on one side, so after one bite half the contents fell out. The prices were average for richmond. I will not be returning.

So i have given this place the benefit of the doubt and been back three times in a month. How optimism trumps reality....until now.

Thats it. The only saving grace is the view, but looking up and down the river there must be several other venues sharing this view of the Thames. No More Tootsies I am afraid.

The service is well meant but inattentive. The wait for a first hint of food at least half and hour on each occasion, and then when it arrives it is tepid. Actually 'tepid' is polite. The calamari was deep fat fried looking like the bits that fell off Alien III and were Cold On Arrival at the table. My mate's burgers were safer fare but still lacked any love or imagination.

This is a children's burger bar. Take the nephew there on saturday's and do some people watching in the summer. Otherwise avoid avoid avoid.

Yes, I agree with all of the negative reviews listed for this restaurant.

I think it is worth mentioning the details of our Sunday lunch experience. It is acceptable for a Sunday lunch on a wonderfully sunny day that things will be busy. It was therefore nothing strange to wait 10 minutes to see the maître d'. After which we were told there was half an hour's waiting. So we waited by the bar where we ordered drinks. This is when it started to get strange. The bar lady was in some sort of break-down and I have never felt more uncomfortable. I put this down to the place being very busy and the signs of Tootsies being short staffed became very clear. We were taken to our table after about 25mins. And by this I mean the maître d' called us at the bar and we followed her. She threw some menus onto a table and walked off, with us standing a few meters behind not sure whether it was for us or not. We had to go after her and ask her.

The waiting staff was very polite and I felt really sorry for them as I only saw three waitresses taking care of all the tables on the ground floor. This I think is the service was delayed, sporadic, and it everyone around us really had to grab a waiter when you saw one.

The food was poor. The steak was tough, even for medium rare, and my partner's salmon looked hideous. The food overall was flavourless.

We paid for a good view, but next time it is better to take a picnic and enjoy good food and drink on the grass lawns in front of this terrible restaurant.

Ps. on a purely personal note: it has been a long time since I saw a people with mortifying table manners. I am not the queen when it comes to table manners but eating like an animal is really off-putting. By bad manners I mean basically throwing food into your mouth and 'downing' your entire drink in between spade-full stuffing. As for him..... I could see him stomach through his open mouth way of eating. Their baby had better manners.

We’ve had a strange relationship with Tootsies over the year – finding the service/food at the Belsize Park branch appalling on more than one occasion, and exactly the opposite at the Brent cross and Kensington branches, so we agreed to meet friends there for Sunday brunch with a bit of trepidation. As the other party have a 1 and 3 year old we are restricted to kid-friendly places when we eat with them.

Place was full and we have to wait 15 minutes for a nice table by the window with a river view. Service was pretty shambolic to say the least. Staff were over-stretched and generally needed to be asked twice for every item ordered – and on 2 occasions we decided not to bother. Food was very average to poor. If it weren’t for the fact that we occupied a table for more than 2 hours, I’d have refused to pay the farcical service charge added. This was not warranted and underserved. My guess is the place was under staffed and that it’s the management that are responsible.

Won’t be back if we can avoid it.
