I went there on the way to the museum yesterday and thought it looks like a great place with good food and value for money, meals were generally £5. While I was eating my meal, I thought it may be a good idea to order a plate of vegetables. It was definitely a mistake. The vegetables looked horrible and simply did not taste fresh. Worst of all, I found a hair in it! I should have complained, instead I just asked for the bill. I nearly had a heart attack - they charged me £6 for a plate of 3 days old vegetable that's a quarter of the size of my meal! I thought it was the biggest rip-off ever! The food overall was also just average. I think I'd rather go to the lovely creperie place next door next time.

This place is a real gem. We stumbled upon this by chance, after trying to fing a pre-concert meal for Simply Red at the Royal Albert Hall. It was our 20th wedding annerversary, so I wanted something special :) this was the business - it was over half full with Chinese diners - a good sign. We weren't rushed to order, but when we did, the food arrived piping hot in minutes. We shared our table with two Chinese students, when they left they were quickly replaced by two other diners who were not together. The food was excewllent, although my neighbour plate full of duck looked very tempting. A sign on the door advises you to ask for more free rice if you was, but there was more than enough food on my £4.50 plate. As soon as I'd finished, my plate was removed just as my chopsticks touched the plate and the bill arrived before I'd finished chewing. The waiters her make Wong Kei's ones look distinctly friendly and polite - that does not make these unfriendly - they are very efficent. I can fully recommend this place, but please don't all go as theres only room for about 20 people crammed in like sardines. And yes, I could have spent a fortune on a posh meal, elsewhere - ended up dissapointed, late for the concert and felling ripped off - this place did neither. Simply Red were excellent too!

OC seems quite popular in the South Ken area so I'm surprised there's only been one reviewer before me. To echo his thoughts, this place is indeed awesome! I've eaten here many times while studying at Imperial College. Whether you're a high school or university student nearby, this is definitely the best place for Chinese food. The menu is single sided (if I remember correctly) which means you get a lot of choices crammed on one page... and there's plenty to choose from! My personaly favourites have been the duck noodles, beef in black bean sauce with rice and special fried noodles. The food is always served piping hot and invariably tastes great. In other words, you really do get filled up for a fiver. Drinks are also relatively cheap at 60p per order of coke or orange juice.
Service is mostly very friendly. I've never had much trouble with the waiters and it's generally a nice place to eat if you want to chatter away at the same time. Very busy and lively. Great good, good service, authentic atmosphere and excellent value for money!

This place is awesome! I intend to go there every time I visit London. Big pile of fried noodles with pieces of succulent roast duck, fills you up for just a fiver. It's small, maybe a bit cramped, but I love it - and so apparently do the local Chinese people, who can often be found chattering away unintelligibly while tucking in to real oriental cuisine. You can get a knife and fork if you ask, but why bother? No one's looking!
