I went to Arcocaria for the second time on Saturday with a group of friends. It was a lovely evening and we sat out on the roof. A couple of people ordered the mezes and l had halloumi and houmous to start followed by lamb cutlets. We all ate like kings and the food kept coming, l even knawed my meat down to the bone it was so tasty. Yes they are slow but it is always busy and they have a lot of people to serve from a tiny kitchen and do remarkably well [they also have to navigate difficult stairs with the food!]. You don't mind waiting though as they are polite and if they do forget something they rectify it immediately and without question.

I like the place because it is so authentic, it's run down and you have plastic tablecloths etc but that's what you'd get in Greece. The owner is also a funny chap with big crazy hair like Doc from Back to the Future! My [cheeky] friend asked where our free drinks were at the end of the meal, l shrunk in embarrassment but without even a thought they brought brought one out to each of us. The place is also a steal - 2 courses, lots of wine and a tip worked out at £16 each..can't complain at that. Shall definitely be going back - once the sun comes back out!!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! Good food, excellent service and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting. A party of six people, on one of the lovely warm evenings we have enjoyed lately, we sat outside and a very friendly waiter brought us the menus. Great variety of starters and main courses. We ordered the mezedes as we wanted to sample most of their dishes and counted over 30 different varieties all cooked to perfection. We were full but the food still kept coming!!

I would say without a doubt that if you want value for your money, try the Arocaria Restaurant. You will not be disappointed. And you get a serving of fruit at the end of your meal, compliments of the management!! Well done Arocaria!

This place is awful. Service was slow and quite rude. Half our 'mini mezedes' never arrived, despite my asking an overworked waiter (and being snapped at). Food was definitely nothing to write home about either.

After reading such amazing reviews about Arocaria in Crouch end I could not wait to go. Oh but it was so disappointing. THe service was absolutely awful, so slow and unattentive. Two of our party of four had finished their main course before the other two dishes arrived. We asked at least six times about our food but the staff were clueless and could not tell us when it might come. The actual food was ok, nothing special.

Just the most disappointing evening spent in a restaurant.

I love everything about Arocaria. Is it possible to feel anything but happy thoughts when you walk in through the flower covered entrance?

Whilst the meats may be the stars of the show, i'd also recommend the vegetarian moussaka which comes with a delightful greek salad.

Now the decor may be a little eccentric but I think this adds to the charm and i'm not alone. This place is rightfully a Crouch End favourite.

This quaint little restaurant has all the charms one would wish for in Greece itself. The waiting staff are friendly and charmiong. The food is uncomplicated yet tasty and you alwasy leave wanting to return. The prices are fair, and it is certainly recommended in the summer where flowers cover the front of the restaurant and the Alfresco blacony has views across the roof tops. Perfect for watching the sun go down with a bottle of wine!

good for couples and for groups wanting to try bits of others' dishes.

All you could ask for now is for this restaurant to be placed by the sea!!
