This is the sort of place I like to eat Indian food - Indian bars/clubs with an east African background. The sort of place where you order a number of grills and share. Mogos on the menu normally suggests the east African influence, the Kenya style chicken in a pot confirms it. Bottles of Tusker would have rounded it off, but we ordered from what the waiter said they had and did not ask.
There's loads of these sorts of places north of the river, so it was nice to discover one closer to home.
I always judge these places by the lamb chops, and these were thick, meaty and full of flavour. Chicken lollipops were different and enjoyable. Surprisingly one of the standouts was the Hakka Chilli Chicken - an Indo-Chinese dish that I would normally overlook.
As is often the case, we ordered a number of starters and only had room for a kulfi. My preference but I'm sure the curries are as good.
Get the masala peanuts and cheese to nibble on why you wait.
There are better places in Harrow (borough) but it's great to find this sort of place in south London...different from the gaffs in Tooting.

My husband and I go here quite often and we have so far never been disappointed. It is quite lively at times and can look more like a local pub than restaurant at first glance, but the food is delicious and the staff very attentive.
