Simply awesome stuff. I'm not a vegetarian but gladly eat here whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Cheap, convenient, pretty nutritious, filling, in the heart of the West End... what's not to like?

Hey...this place is great - the best falafels I've had in london so far, yummy, fast, fresh, and absolutely the best value for my NZ dollar! While its not big on atmosphere, it dont have to be - its a fast food outlet, so let the food speak for itself ...and it says EAT ME!

Excellent for a quick, filling bite, especially if you get the meal with the chips and drink. Chips are hot and crispy and you can help yourself to the variety of sauces (sesame, yoghurt, garlic mayo, ketchup).
I would recommend the small maoz which is half a pitta, since the large one can't fit much more salad inside it anyway. Choice of salad never seems to change and there is little freshness about it either - some pickled aubergine, cauliflower, couscous, carrots - but you can pack in as much as you want into the pitta and it's definitely healthier than eating refined carbs or saturated fats. Also, the condition of the food is good; when I say not fresh, I mean not freshly prepared, but it is by no means an old, mangled, discoloured offering.
Staff are friendly and will encourage you to taste some falafel if you've never had it before and would like a try. The falafel itself is hot, crispy and delicious - nuttier, textured and so much more satisfying to eat than (surprisingly) some of the falafel I've had along Edgeware Rd, which has been floury, airy and totally insubstantial.
This is a very good fast food option but can get pretty busy.

With reference to the comment below, all restaurants in this chain (there are two in Soho)are completely vegetarian.
Portions are huge and falafel are excellent. Very cheap. Highly recommended.

How can you call this a vegetarian place when it serves kebabs/burgers along side.

Maoz has quickly established itself fondly in the hearts of those who frequent Old compton street.OK,it's simple fare but i'm always impressed by the freshness of the veg and the friendly staff.

This cheap and cheerful café is a great place to have a quick bite to eat in Soho. This branch is one of two in Soho and part of an international chain which originated in Holland. Their philosophy is providing fresh vegetarian fast food. Falafel is offered with or without pitta bread and or houmous or other toppings and you can help yourself to the salad. Portions are generous, very reasonably priced and very tasty indeed. A take away is available or you can sit at one of the tables, sharing with other diners if the eatery is busy.
