Stick & Bowl

I'm a London cabbie and I was introduced to the Stick and Bowl about ten years ago. I found the food so tasty and the atmosphere friendly that I soon became a regular eater, dropping in at least once a week for a meal ever since. The staff and other customers are always friendly the layout of high stools and benches facing other diners being condusive to friendly enquiries about each others meals. It's a great place for a meal break when ouit shopping or pre cinema or after a visit to the Albert Hall being located as it is at the Hyde Park end of Kensington High Street. Great food, surely the best noodle bar in London.

I have been going to Stick & Bowl since 1993. Excellent food with helpful staff if you cannot decide what to eat from the great menu. Personally, I would recommend #6, my son's favourite. Salt & Pepper prawn taste as good as in Dochester, 1/3 the price The aromatic duck is excellent too. I always pop-in whenever I am in London.

I found this restaurant (opposite Royal Garden Hotel and Kensington Palace Gate) in 1975 and it was excellent then as it is today. As a comparrison to prices today my rent was £28 per month in Kensington High Street and a chicken and mushroom with rice was about 65p. I go there whenever I can and it is still a great cheap way to eat good chinese food.

I'm an A-level student in my last year of school,and my friends and I eat at least once a week at Stick and Bowl.

The food is really good quality,with satisfyingly large portions,and the unpretentious,relaxed atmosphere makes for an enjoyable eating experience.It's also extremely good value for money,and,as students, we find it's not a burden on our budgets at all!

I highly recommend the House Fried Rice-a delicious concoction of chicken,pork,prawns and tofu with rice.

I have been going to stick and bowl since 1982 - is that a record!! it's still as good as it was then. my children are also great fans and we make a point of trying to pop in when we can.

I lived in South Kensington for 4 months and was fortunate enough to discover this gem of a Chinese restaurant tucked along High Street Ken. My roomates and I started going there at least once a week for dinner and never left unsatisfied. By the end of our stay the Stick & Bowl employees knew what we wanted as soon as we walked in the door. The service is good, the atmosphere is friendly, prices are reasonable (so rare in London) and, most importantly, the food is great. If you are fortunate enough to go to Stick & Bowl, I recommend ordering #19 with the won-ton soup, it never fails to impress.

we've been goin to this restaurant for the past 6 years and always enjoy the food its value for money plus the quality of food is great the only problem is that now we have a child and the restaurant is not child friendly as its a very small place which is mostly full and no place for the kids to sit .. i would highly recommned this restaurant but if you have kids then go for a takeaway menu..
