Rock the Boat

I had never been on a boat bar before so this was a first. I don't normally come down this far on the Thames but travel problems meant I had to go this way and when I saw how busy it was and the music which was totally what I would listen to while drinking then I had to pop in. I didn't leave for 3 or 4 hours I think ao I guess it was worth it.
I've been a few times since then and it varies how many people are there. It's weird because this place is different to most places and you get a decent view along the Thames.
Price wise its great, it means I can buy more drink. The food has tended to change over the months but still fulfills my taste needs. You must try the specialty burger they do - WOW!
Hopefully come the summer it will see the sort of numbers that it deserves and see the top deck packed out - cold at the moment so it's understandable.

Rock the Boat is a lovely setting, unique and intimate, with friendly, helpful staff BUT the food was appalling. The menu listed basic pub grub choices that arrived poorly cooked and presented and at the end of the night we were presented with a whopping bill. A true shame as the owner was lovely and genuinely wanted to please. I may suggest a new chef...

this is definately a restaurant overlooked.
we nearly overlooked it myself as it is a barge on the thames and does not look to appealing.however,i ventured inside to find we were pleasantly surprised how nice the inside is.again we considered leaving as the place was almost empty, but in for a pound we stayed.
i had the mushroom soup and the wife the avocado soup we agreed both were very nice and obviously home made.
i then had the homemade cottage pie,the wife had the mixed grill.again both very nice only problem to big and neither of us could find room for dessert.
the food is not gourmet but unpretentious and scores 10/10 value for money.
surroundings are pleasant and the staff informal and friendly although the choice of background music a little bit to retro 50s & 60s for my taste.
the views are second to none.
this place does not deserve to be so quiet.i dont know when but i will certainly return.
