I went to Saki last night with my boyfriend to celebrate our 2 years anniversary. We ordered a bottle of their house wine and had a 3 course meal. Our first course was the soft shell crab tempura and the sashimi. The soft shell crab tempura was fresh and the sauce was fantastic. The sashimi was fresh and melt-in-the-mouth. Although the portion was quite small for the amount we paid, it was still worth it. our second course was the Chicken Terriyaki and the rib eye terriyaki. The chicken terriyaki came out cold and wasn't what I expected. The rib eye however was done to perfection and really enjoyed it. Our dessert was the green tea tiramisu and the black sesame panna cotta. I must say the dessert was too good.. I

Interior of the restaurant was modern and yet cosy. If your a japanese food lover like me, it's a must try!

Visited Saki last week at the recommendation of a friend and he was spot on. While we had many things on the menu, what was most memorable was the Grilled Iberico pork and the softshell crab were standouts. The sushi was fresh and excleent , but that was expected. The other dishes were a nice surprise. We also had a complimentary Sparkling Sushi which added to the experience. Definitely recommend dining here if you like Japanese.

I recently tried out Saki which had been recommended to me by several friends. First impressions were good, the subterranean bar and dining room have a stylish edge to them and the staff are friendly.

The menu is interesting and original and we chose a variety of dishes to try out. The food was excellent with the lobster tempura a real highlight. I also enjoyed the sake recommended to us by our waitress.

Overall a very enjoyable experience and one I hope to repeat in the near future.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in London.

Beautifully prepared food, imaginative decor and polite service.

Definitely a fantastic experience for anyone who does not mind paying for qualit,y especially when you realise that Saki won an award for serving the best sushi in the UK.

We were totally let down by Saki.

Though the food was interesting objectively, there was so little of it we ended up leaving the restaurant hungrier than when we walked in! For almost 70 quid (for 2) you would have thought that we would at least be full. We have been to many japanese restaurants and are well aware that portions are little generally (esp. for sashimi) but the thinness of the 4 wafers of sashimi we had that evening beggars belief! The chef must have been slicing under an electron microscope! And its no wonder the sashimi melted in your mouth, being no thicker than those listerine mint strips on sale at Boots. The ingredients/ style of preparation are not even traditionally japanese so one cannot even argue that you are paying for the cultural experience.

I would add that other than the gimmicky Japanese toilets and central 'zen' garden, the decor looked / felt less than impressive.

The service staff were adequate but less than knowledgeable giving us the impression that out of 3-4 waiters, only 1 was able to recommend dishes. I would question also the recommendations given to us that evening given that we walked away feeling hungry and totally ripped off.

Saki is a truly excellent restaurant - sushi, sashimi (particularly) and other dishes are all top quality. Try especially the snow crab rolls and the awesome lobster tempura.

It's not really a romantic sort of place and the service isn't geared towards assisting clueless Japanese food virgins so best to visit once you're already hooked on the cuisine.

The bar is also great for some post work cocktails (try the sakesake mule) and a few bites of sushi/tempura.

We almost didn't lunch at Saki, as it was snowing outside and sushi didn't seem so appealing. I am so glad we did! Our waitress was attentive and knowledgable - the sushi she suggested was melt-in-the-mouth-good. Warm sake soon drove out any chill and I thoroughly enjoyed the teriyaki salmon; everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The deserts were mm-mmm good and left me with a happy pudding glow for the afternoon. Can't wait to go back!

Went there on an early Friday night for a drink after work followed by dinner. Lovely place. Small and intimate - perfect for a quiet dinner. We had a cocktail in the bar before dinner. Not sure what restaurant the person below visited, but we thought the decor was lovely. Prices seem reasonable and things like tonkatsu are around £ 10, though rice etc is charged separately at dinner times. The bill mounts up when you start to add in the sushi by piece. That said, the sushi was lovely and I enjoyed my tonkatsu. My friend's blackened cod was lovely. We finished with ice creams and had ume shu which was lovely. Service was sweet - not fiercely efficient but not hopeless either. Bit like the service in Tokyo really - so at least it's authentic! About 70% of clientele were Japanese. We had a lot of fun and the food was lovely. Look forward to returning.
