This place used to be my regular take out! Usually 3 times a week minimum. The food is excellent and Venus and Michael the owners are brilliant ! Infact although i dont live in London anymore i still try to grab a bite when ever im passing! Im a vegetarian and the veggie red curry with tofu is amazing! Dont forget to bring your own booze and also cash as they dont take cards. You would be foolish not to try this place.

What can I say? - I first visited SRO in about 2000 and immediately fell in love with the whole ethos of the place. The food and atmosphere are fantastic and Venus and Michael are the most accomodating restauranteurs I've ever met. Just to illustrate how much they value their customers, they still remembered me by name when I returned having moved away for 3+ years!
This is how all restaurants should be, a rare gem in a sea of mediocrity.

I don't think i've been to any thai resturant in London - that has better food, better atmosphere & is totally brilliant value for money - AKA the BYO. I love going to this resturant because of all of the above - but the fact that they make you feel so welcome when you go there. Its fantastic!! The chef - without fail will come out say hi and ask everyone in the resturant if everything is ok etc - and thank everyone for coming - very hospitable...haven't seen anything like it. Bless must say that i absolutely love venus & michael - the atmosphere they create - is fantastic - and there the type of people that even when its closing time - if your still on your drinks they don't mind - they want you to stay, relax and enjoy unlike other places i've been to. Rate this resturant 10 out of 10 - an all rounder.

A very enjoyable evening, the service was fantastic, and incredibly good value for money.
We will definetely be going again and would highly reccomended it to all our friends.
They prepared our meals to our specifications and kept out table for us even though we were 20 mins late for our booking.
The entire evening was just a joy!

The Thai by which my lovely wife judges all others, the food is great and the atmosphere very friendly. If you want more heat, just ask for it. The BYO is a plus and although they don't take cards, there is a cash machine at the garage just along the road (check there's still money in it first though!)

The best Thai in London for food, service and price.
Have always felt at home and comfortable in the atmosphere.

Fantastic local Thai restaurant! This is the restaurant where they know your name, remember how you like your favourite dish, and are genuinely happy to see you when you come back (and you will). Venus and Michael feed me more often than I do - and they certainly feed me better than I do. BYO means you can try new wines even on a budget, but remember to bring cash - they don't take cards.

Yay! Didn't realise SRO was listed on here now. Put it this way, we live in North London and drive/tube 13 miles to go here whenever we want Thai - which reminds me it's been too long since the last visit :-)
Personal favourites are the Tom Yum Gai (spicy chicken and mushroom soup), Stir fried Roast Duck with Thai basil and vegetables and the Lamb Massaman curry which occasionally shows its face on the specials
It's very reasonably priced, the food is great and the welcome from Venus and Michael always make the trip worthwhile. Best of all it's BYO so you can splash out on a good bottle of wine (or 2 average ones!) to enjoy with your meal.
If you're in the Ealing area you should already know about it, if not - make an effort

I discovered this place about 6 months ago and have been back pretty much on a weekly basis! THe owner, Venus and her husband are very welcoming. BYO means that a 3 course dinner for two has cost us as little as £22. The starters are good, but the main courses are divine. I would recommend prawn green curry or the chicken and cashew dish with sticky rice. Hmmm now Im hungry!

A lovely Thai restauraunt with authentic surroundings. The food is superb and the flavours are delicious. The owners and staff are lovely and you receive a warm welcome and very friendly service. I have been to quite a few Thai resaurants but this is one I keep returning to. Infact I am off there tomorrow night. Can`t wait.
It is a BYO. No credit cards.
