Service isn't great. Maybe typically Italian rudeness? We pre-ordered for 9 and turned up with 7 but did not get the deposit for the 2 missing eaters. Service charge was enforced! Waiter was rude; non-attentive.

When it came to paying we had a 10 minute argument about the deposit and service charge.

Won't go back there again.

Got my order wrong several times and then the waiter accused me of forgetting what I had ordered. Noisy and crowded to boot. Also the pizza I did eventually get was cold and small.

I’m not sure what went wrong perhaps I was just unlucky and ordered badly at this restaurant. I had a four seasons pizza which was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had in my life – there was so much cheese on a thin wet burnt base. My partner’s pepperoni pizza was a bit better but not amazing. Having said that the other dishes being served in the restaurants looked fine and service was good making up for the food. I did feel a bit robbed tho

We were there early on Friday evening and the place was getting busier as we left. I did like the décor very traditional Italian. I think downstairs walking to the toilet could be cleaner, there was for some reason a few pieces of broccoli scattered across the floor and it didn’t look that clean.

I might have been there on an off night - not sure if I’d risk going again however....

Tried the place again after an uninspiring visit a few years back. Sad to report that the food remains mediocre-to-ok and service remains ridiculously high-handed. This place ought to realise that it's not Locanda and has no business treating customers with such contempt.

This restaurant only gets its custom from its location. The staff are unfriendly, rude and arrogant.

I went there for a lunch. The food was average. Why should I put up with such rudeness!!!

Was first drawn in by the smells and the buzz of conversation wafting out of the open shutters a few months ago and have now been 4 or 5 times, it's become one of our favourite restaurants.

The person who said the portions are small either REALLY likes their food or was very unlucky - the portions have always been more than big enough for me & the boyfriend, and he eats like a horse!

The seafood risotto is one of the best either of us have had, the pizzas are at just the right level of crispiness and with plenty of topping, the pasta dishes are hearty and bursting with flavour and the fish/meat mains have been beautifully cooked.

The couple of times we've hada starter we've shared the mussels - really tasty and plenty of them.

Service is fine - a little slow sometimes but what they lack in speed they make up for in friendliness and humour. Last time we were there (last week) we were serenaded by our waiter miming strumming a pepper pot!

Absolutely love the place - great food, smiley staff and a relaxed-but-lively atmosphere. Almost makes me feel like I'm on holiday!

Went last week and had a great time. Food was fantastic and generous portions. Busy and crowded, but I like that sort of atmosphere.

Been here on a number of occassions - cheer yourself up lunches with colleagues, catching up with old friends over dinner, my Mum after a few drinks, dinner with the new young man etc. It's relaxed, there's an atmosphere, the food is superb and on a summer evening a lovely breeze through the open windows. The service isn't great, they'll round up your bill etc. but it's hardly the most expensive place on the planet. Definitely book and definitely ask for a table upstairs and you'll love it. City types are not easily pleased - if it wasn't great it would've shut by now, likewise their other restaurants/deli's around the city.
