The Cuckoo Club

I went a few times to Cuckoo club and always had a good time. Great atmosphere, nice crowd and top music from house DJ Tim Money!
However I was negatively suprised the other night when the bartender charged me £15 for a mojito!!! I know it can cost you more than a regular vodka cranberrie or rum coke but come on £15 is a rip-off! what is the profit margin you can get out of this? 1000%??!
I strongly recommend you menu prices and balance it off a bit....

Booked a table for dinner on sat 12th Apr 2008 at 8pm bcos their reservations person called me confirming a table. They took my credit card details and told me if my guess and i did not turn up there would be a £20 a head charge for each guest! We arrived at 7.50pm and were told at 8.10pm that our table had been given away to a member. I was livid and asked why no one had called to tell me, and was told someone was about to??? My reservation is at 8pm and this person is tellng me that someone was going to tell me i had no more table after 8.10pm. The only explanation i was given was by a rude member of their staff and the manager on duty that was their policy?? What kind of policy is that? To tell their guests with confirmed reservations they dont have any on a saturday nite? We were offered no help in obtaining a reservation elsewhere and it was saturday nite and my two guests were from Germany looking forward to dining in the Cuckoo club! I had cancelled a reservation at Embassy and Paper for this?
The staff are very rude, pompous and very unhelpful. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! We finally got a table in Bentleys Seafood Bar and the staff and the food was excellent!

This club is a funny bunny. Some nights are amazing, beautiful crowd and amazing atmosphere whilst other evenings could be mediocre at best. As a venue its one of the best in London though, so as long as you have a good attitude it surely offers a great evening out.

While the resturant initially felt exclusive, food and service was pretty fantastic, the club was far too heavily crowded later on in the evening and its exclusivity reduced to that of shopping at Aldi. While a club should be lively, this was far, far, far too crowded for such a venue - e.g. the both the top bar and lower dance areas were packed plus the staircase between them was packed as well - complete gridlock-couldn't even get to the gents. Coupled with not being allowed to sit and don't even bother dancing unless you have no arms or legs, the hopeless wine selection at the lower bar ("Can I see the wine list? Certainly - white or red?") at £40 a bottle. Beer £6/ bottle. Shorts £9/glass. So having spent £2000 between a group of 12 of us, we were basically forced to leave. Pretty poor for what is a special occasion for us. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for the exclusive restuarant/club experience.

Fantastic !!!! How anyone has written a bad review has confused me. The food is amazing and the service and atmosphere is the same. Reading some of the reviews below seems like these people have eaten somewhere else or are written by other clubs jealous of this places success. I would state that this is one of nicest experiences i have had in the westend in my life. go for yourself and its worth the hard work booking

This place is already past its zentith. Have been visiting Cuckoo Club since last autumn, and the crowd/atmosphere is slowely but surely degenerating (partially as a result of letting more tourists and wannabes in). Think Mo*Vida two months after it start going sour, and you'll find Cuckoo Club weekends at the same stage.
The cuisine offered is of varying quality, the Beef Wellington is as earlier stated in the reviews excellent, but trust me - that is pretty much as good as it gets.
As far as weekdays go, Wednesday/Thursday is allegedly better but less crowded. Go there with a big group, and play confidently with the ladies and the place is still a good night out;) Don't expect any Cote d'Azur atmosphere in the air though

Went to Cuckoo for dinner with a large group of friends and was most impressed. From the point I called the restaurant to book I found them to be both friendly and accomodating. Regulations with regards to dresscode, male/female ratio, etc. were clearly explained so I knew what to expect and therefore wasn't an issue when all arrived.
One of the doormen that I first approached on arrival seemed a bit gruff and unfriendly, but another was all smiles and welcoming.
From the point we entered the front door I was impressed with the service all the way through. The Maitre'D was calm, well organised, and friendly, and our waiter was excellent. Attentive, uber friendly, and helpful as one should expect.
I was impressed with the food as well. The Beef Wellington was great. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but the sauce they cooked the vegetables and mushrooms in was amazing, though the beef was a little too 'medium' for a medium rare in my opinion.
Club wasn't bad either. Beautiful crowd, for sure.
All in all a good place that I would recommend and I will visit again.

Sounds odd but I have never even been to the Cuckoo Club. I tried to book a table and was told rudely to send an email to clarify who I was. Once I sent an email they told me that they could hold a table but could not guarantee it until 2 days before which is slightly concerning when you are trying to organise an evening with several senior women from the music industry. I was never told at any point throguhout the booking process on how I could become a member - everything I asked was a negative. If the woman on the phone was anything to go by then this place is ghastly. Left a very bitter taste!

I went to this place on Sat Nov 25. The Food and Drinks were ok but rude and arrogant staff makes the whole experience no better than roadhouse in Covent garden. I cannot understand why any members would pay for such crap. Luckilly I was invited to a private corporate party and didn't have to pay anything. Nevertheless, I would never go hire privately. The place sucks !!
