I thought I should write to re-dress the balance of these reviews.

The Nutmeg is a slightly above average. Yes, the service is friendly but with only 2 waiters for a full mid week restaurant it was quite slow and mistakes were made with our order.

The food is well presented but very mild, and some of the 'modern twist' dishes miss the mark by miles. We has a lamb mince stuffed chicken breast smoothered with a sweet sauce and a king prawn dish that was watery and sat atop a mass of iceberg lettuce. Admittedly, had there been more than just the 2 of us dining we may have sampled, and liked, other dishes. Certainly, we were glad to have the 50% off offer as paying the full amount would not have gone down well given the standard of the food

The decor and sevice may just have tipped the balance in favour of a return visit. There are, however, restaurants serving tastier indian food out there.

This is clearly a much loved restaurant. It was completely booked out on the Thursday evening that we dined. We went on the London-eating offer and, quite frankly glad we did, as paying the full amount would not have gone down well. We had high expectations based on the previous reviews and they were not quite met. Yes, the service was very friendly, but with only 2 waiters available it was a little slow and prone to mistakes, as proved by our first course - we received someone else's order. The food was actually ok, but very mildly spiced. We had the mixed starter to begin with, followed with a less successful chicken breast stuffed with mince lamb and spinach. It was covered with a thick sweet sauce. The £16 king prawn chef special was watery and sat atop a huge salad dominated by iceberg lettuce. Perhaps if we'd dined in a group and had the opportunity to try a wider range of dishes we'd have been less disappointed. We may even consider going back - the friendly staff and nice decor may just warrant another try. The food, however, seems quite over-rated.

Found by chance and will return..

I often find myself continuously let down by the poor standard of Indian restaurants local to me and was more than pleased to have a sumptuous meal with good service in a nice location and not be charged an arm and leg for. In addition I suffered no next day ill effects to boot... ;-)

Flavours are complex and delicious. Portions are enormous, so i only had a main-course as I just can't manage main + rice + naan + lasi + + + + yum!!!

Easily my favourite restaurant in London - been back at least 25 times since it opened and am never disappointed.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely décor. I trust the chef so much that I've experimented with lots of different dishes (I really was the kind of Indian food lover who kept ordering the same dish before) and as for the staff - nothing is too much trouble. They're incredibly attentive without crowding you at all, and are always very friendly.

And then the price - what a bargain! Excellent value for money.

I reiterate the previous comment - the only problem with Nutmeg is that it has raised the bar so high that other Indian restaurants now always seem pretty lacklustre!

I dined with my boyfriend at this restaurant last Friday due to the impressive review of this restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner and I believe it deserves another good review here.

When we entered the restaurant, we were already surprised by the lovely interior design of it. So stylish, so modern! The atmosphere is so good that I reckon it is nice enough for special occasions e.g. anniversary, birthday, etc.

The service of this restaurant was not overrated by other reviews here. They were very attended and friendly. Even if the restaurant was full, the waiters just managed to serve every table well. I also noticed those waiters frequently looked around to see where they are wanted by any customers. When we left the restaurant, the waiter who was dealing with something else immediately put aside his work, came to say goodbye and opened the door for us. This may be something very trivial but matters much to a customer!

The quality of the food is remarkable! We ordered two starters, baked aubergine and oyster mushroom. We did not know whether they are authentic but one thing we were sure is- they are delicious! For main course, we got herb and spinach lamb, a very spicy chicken dish, Pilau rice, spinach and potato. We ordered a bottle of white wine as well. Thanks for the special offer at londoneating, we paid less than £30 for the whole bill even if we had eaten so much!

I really love this restaurant a lot! I would definitely go back!

We visited Nutmeg on Wednesday evening after work. We arrived earlier than the time our table was booked for but they were very accommodating and welcomed us in. We had booked the 50% London Eating offer and were pleasently surprised at the menu, not too long but there was plenty of choice. I opted for the chilli chicken and my husband the whitebait, both fantastic.

The main courses arrived and these were equally delicious. I can only reitirate what has been said before, by reviewers, the staff were unobtrusive but looked after us well, a very enjoyable evening. The whole restaurant was full by the time we left and there was a good atmosphere so I beleive this place must be quite a favourite for quite a few people.

Swiftly becoming a regular haunt, Nutmeg manages to outclass all other Indian establishments of the same price tried to date (a lot). Absolutely worth a visit.

My wife and I have eaten here several times since it opened I must confess to having only one real complaint; it has ruined any other Indian restaurant for me as none compare!

I have eaten better (but only very slightly) but it has cost more (a lot more) but the warmth of the staff and manager always make us feel welcome (bar none).

Well worth the visit as once really is all it takes and you will keep coming back. Now all I have to do is to convince my babysitter to work more than one night a week.

I was pleasantly surprised after logging in into Londoneating.com website and finding one of my favourite restaurants reviewed on it. I decided to make my contribution into list of comments made by people who have already tried dining at Nutmeg.

I shall start by saying I have been to Nutmeg on many occasions after discovering it in late 2005 and I really like the place!

Me and my husband are very keen on trying various cuisines and are frequent diners out.

I am particularly fond of Indian cuisine and have tried many different restaurants in London and outside. When I walked in into Nutmeg for the first time I was amazed by how it looked. Unlike many traditional Indian restaurants it was decorated in very contemporary, elegant, sophisticated manner. It looked very modern, clean and had very calm and relaxing atmosphere.

I had visited Nutmeg on many occasions after that. I also held my birthday party there, celebrated New Year and enjoyed few barbecue parties in the restaurant garden during summer time.

Whatever the occasion it’s always nice to come to this place to enjoy relaxing music, taste great food and experience good, friendly service. Nutmeg has a great menu with choice of not only traditional Indian food, but with chef’s own creations. Salmon kebab and crab cakes are among my favourite. And if you happen to be there, don’t leave the place without trying Tores Esmeralda White Wine. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

If you are looking for a nice Indian restaurant, I would highly recommend Nutmeg. It’s got everything for anyone to have a good time: atmosphere, great food, good service and is very reasonably priced!!!

I recently visited Nutmeg upon recommendation by a good friend and was not disappointed.

Our group was afforded a warm welcome and service was swift yet unobstrusive throughout the evening. The food was fantastic.

An all round quality experience. I will definetly be back.
