Oh... nice place, terrific parties.....I went to see a movie with my girlfriend, she is Chinese so we went to have dinner in this restaurant. i love the atmosphere when having Chinese food with a Chinese girlfriend in a Chinese restaurant.

I promise you will love that place as well... authentic Chinese food will bring you to the Han Dynasty. After we finished movie, surprisingly to find that the bar still hold a deep house party in their main hall....lol....dance dance.

it is an interesting name for a Japanese restaurant as advertised. we went to Shanghai Bar in a group of 4, i unluckily ordered seafood raman. i couldnt believe that the raman there was actually those instant noodles u could buy from supermarkets. then we ordered a sushi box to share. the sushi wasnt fresh at all, rice wasnt cooked properly. thats the worse sushi i have ever tried in london. if u r looking for somewhere to have a quick dinner before watching film, or looking for somewhere for go out for a date n dont really bother about food, this is the place for u. try the special fried rice or seafood udon as my friends have suggested. but if u r looking for somewhere for a decent dinner, go somewhere else, but dont come to this restaurant.

this is a pretty good place to eat - much better than the nearby alternatives of pizza hut and nando's!!

however it is almost always freezing cold so take a jumper and budget more than £5.50! it's more like £20 per person.

I've had the misfortune to dine at this restaurant. Should not advertise japanese food as this is clearly not their forte. The service was equally disappointing, taking them about 10 mins before they realized we were there. The starters were good, but no better than your high street takeout.

Have been to Shanghai several times, and while the food is always good I have had very mixed service. After having a long discussion once with a waiter who was having trouble explaining about a sushi dish, he came back to apologise that the sushi-chef was out today! No sushi!

When I've had the sushi it has been very nice and prices are reasonable. A weird place and name for a "Japanese" restaurant, but much better than the local alternatives! Recommended.

Ok, the queue for Nando's was too long as we had a film to go and see, so thought we could try and get some quick chinese instead, this place always looks a bit out of place in a shopping park however was pleasently suprised with the Crispy shredded duck for starters, a decent sized bird which was cooked well. I opted for Singapore noodles and my partner went for veg chow mein, both were really good portions and very tasty,it was not particularly busy but I got my main 5 mins before my partner and grabbing the attention of the waiters was a bit troublesome, apart from that would def recomend it for pre film munch.

When I first went to this restaurant, I felt it was a very elegant, modern and yet high class restaurant with an "down to earth" coating.

Shanghai is a great restaurant, a great spot whether you're with friends or you're on a date. The food quantity is aplenty together with quality to match. I never had a problem with service and the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and professional. I felt honored when the manager someone comes to serve me herself and check whether if everything is ok, which something that not all restaurants do.

I love their sushi and chinese dishes; that's saying a lot from me because there aren't a lot of great chinese and sushi restaurants our there even though there are many of them. And the prices is just right for a restaurant for that calibre though, to be honest, sometimes I feel like I am robbing from them because the prices are great and the food is superb!

Great food, nice style, relaxing atmosphere, good pricing, this place is my new night spot for me and my girlfriend. Take it from someone that been to many oriental restaurants; places like Shanghai is hard to find so go I recommend this place for all.

The first time i went to shanghai bar i was very impressed with the way everything looked, and the food was fantastic - i eventually started Djing for Shanghai bar as they turn into a club after 11:00pm how cool is that - if you come down to shanghai bar with your partner you can have a wonderful meal and have a dance and drink afterwards or watch a film at the cinema and come afterwards.

Come and hear the 99.3fm DJ's Karnage and Kaution Live as we sound better live and in a club.
