Da Spago

Do not go to this restaurant for groups of larger than 2. We had our team xmas lunch there and it was absolutely appalling. The table wasn't ready so we had to watch it being assembled, the waiter put the tv on v loud so we had to ask him to turn it off, the food all came at different times - some main meals arrived as late as 30 minutes so some people had finished eating before others had even started. The waiter was rude and insisted one of the guests had ordered something, she in fact hadn't and all in all, it was a very bad experience. Thankfully, we still had a good time largely due to the wine and our own company but this was the worst service I have ever received and will never be going back. A shame as had had ok experiences before but this was beyond a joke so advise you to avoid.

Given the other reviews we were expecting an ok level of quality. We were disappointed. Food was tasteless and slow to arrive. Pasta portions were small. Pizzas were ok but missed the pine nuts. Poor.

I came here with come concerns having read some fairly scathing reviews. I need not have worried. The staff were freindly and charming throughout. They were quick to take my order, and remarkably relaxed about the fact that it was a Friday night, but we didn't even look at the menus until half an hour after we had arrived!

The food itself was beautifully presented, and absolutely lovely. I had a parma ham and mozzarella starter, while my friends had insalata caprese. While mine was easily the biggest starter, theirs also looked lovely. (Mine was delicious). For main courses, I had Melanzane Parmigiana, and my friends both had pizzas. The food was hot, looked amazing and tasted better.

I will definitely be returning here again. The value for money for the area was astounding, and was not reflected badly in the quality of the food or service.

I don’t know who is the new manager or owner of Spago. . sorry!!! now is called Da Spago, FINALLY THIS LITTLE RESTAURANT IS BACK TO LIFE AGAIN. My boyfriend and I had a dinner last March and we had to leave after the starter which was served by an arrogant man with long grey hair which to me looks like to be the boss. We said never again. We passed by last Sunday and we realized the new clean look of the restaurant togheter with a lovely looking waiter and we decided to go in. We can only say … see you soon... the linguine with lobster and the Ravioli were so succulent… To the manager and the team, we would like to say well done and see you soon…. I hope to see Waiter tooo..... Ciao Luigi

This restaurant I believe was known as Spago has now changed ownership and renamed DA SPAGO, I can only say to the new management Bravi!!! I visited the old Spago couple of years ago and I've promised myself never ever again. However I passed by couple of weeks ago and I realised the new look of the restaurant. Out of curiosity I’ve asked the charming waiter if they have change management and the answer was YES... We step in the same evening and I can only say well done to the new management delicious food , atmosphere and service... the Ravioli... what a fantastic dish, the pizza metre was a must try, we did but was to much ... I totally recommend the place. Maria... PS we have been there already 3 times in 10 days.
