A refreshing change to the usual grab-a-sandwich-and-go lunch routine. The service is a little slow; but it's worth the wait. Terrines are excellent, and the main dish is always hearty (good portions too !!). Beware those with a sweet tooth !! Banana Cheese Cakes & melt-in-the-mouth chocolate brownies are fabulous. Also try the unusual Argentinean cookies. I've been here a few times in the past few weeks, and have never leave unsatisfied.

I have eaten here twice and have been very disappointed with the food. Food is very well presented but the kitchen seems to be lacking in skill. Stawberry muffin was as hard as a rock. Coffee had a burnt flavour. On another occasion a hot stew beautifully presented but was bland.

It is great to find a place in the City where the food is all freshly cooked from top quality ingredients. Prices are very reasonable given the quality.

It's a sort of upmarket caff. They do a good range of sandwiches and excellent cakes and desserts (try the bread pudding - A1) plus one or two main course dishes per day. The theme is good quality ingredients used to make simple dishes, so the cheese and pickle sarnie has Lincolshire poacher cheese and quince pickle. The mains are things like braised rabbit or fresh sardines - a bit out of the ordinary for Fleet Street. There's a very limited selection of bottled beer, but a good range of wines, especially some quality reds. Sandwiches are pricey, but the mains are good value. They are open in the evening but really only as a wine bar with some snacks (had some homemade terrine and some very good bread when I was last there). If you fancy yourself as a bit if a foodie its well worth a try.
