I ate here with my wife and overall enjoyed the experience but have a few gripes. The service was friendly and attentive considering how busy it was and how demanding other patrons seemed to be, but this didn't compensate for the fact that our main food took over an hour to arrive. I was also a bit surprised that the waitress who brought my bill suggested I top up the service charge that was already included because she wasn't going to be given a share of it. The food was good, but overpriced in my opinion too. On the positive side, the friendly and amusing waiter and lively atmosphere did make up for a lot of these issues.

I'm italian and went to Centonove yesterday and I have to say that the food at Centonove is authentic italian, home made pastas and ravioli, my friend had pizza and it was very nice as well. The tiramisu is the best i tried so far. All that in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I recommend it to italian lovers!

I had a late dinner on Sat night with 2 friends before going clubbing, and we had a good time and good dinner, but at a price of 50 each which is not cheap. The place wasn't too crowded and it was relaxing and friendly.

Ups: food is good (not really authentic Italian, but good), waitresses are pretty. Downs: small portions at very expensive prices

Decided to head there with my girlfriend on a whim and found it pretty disappointing. Starters were fine, but the mains were pretty dull. I had the tuna and green beans, which had no taste or flavour whatsoever (and a weird aroma of hay!).

Service was friendly but soon got a bit slow when it seemed the waiters friends turned up. I had to move the plates onto another table after a while to point out that we had finished.

didn't bother hanging around for desert .

I totally disagree with some of the negative reviews on this website. I live locally to Centonove and my husband and I go there often. We have always found the food to be delicious, real italian food. Pizzas are thin crust with fabulous tomato sauce, the pasta is excellent, the salads original and plentiful and the sea bass with artichokes is to die for. Excellent on all counts.

I have been there a couple of times to see the Italian football with friends on the big screen, the food is poor, and everything is overpriced, plus it is not authentic at all (I am Italian..), the service is slow, and I don't like the fact that they hire only good looking girls.

Basically is a rip off.

This place is quite small, nicely decorated, dark with glittery prints and wallpaper. Sounds odd but it works. The tables are close together and it is quite noisy. The staff are ‘almost’ friendly. Quite welcoming to get you in there, but once seated they don’t bother too much. Clientele are posh young things, most having wandered down the road from the Westbourne.

The food overall was a disappointment. The starters were the best bit; beef carpaccio was good, a good amount of meat and nice delicate dressing. The warmed goats cheese was also good. Both theses came in at about £8.50 each. Mains were poor. I have pasta with baby octopus and peas. It was meant to be in a garlic, chilli and tomato sauce but there was no suggestion of either garlic or chilli. I suppose one redeeming factor was that there was plenty of octopus. Dining partner had a pizza. It was bone dry crispy on the outside and fall to bits soggy in the middle. Over salty anchovies and generally pretty poor. Pizza was about £9 and my pasta gloop was about £14 – well overpriced. We had a bottle of rose that would probably put you back 3 Euro in Italy costing £18 here – I wouldn’t mind if it tasted any good but it didn’t.

So a bit of a disappointment really. It looks nice from the outside and everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves but the food didn’t really do it for me. If you want quality pizza in an informal setting you can’t beat Il Bacio Café on Stoke Newington Church St.
