Inpromptu visit after a stressful night on public transport. Arrived hoping for a place to relax and eat. We were not dissappointed. As two food lovers we like to sample different dishes and as soon as I saw the lobster thermidor on the menu my mind was made up, I know a bit extravangant for a Wednesday night but hey I was stressed.
We came into the restaurant with a large parcel which the staff had no problems storing for us in their own space. We were shown to a table for two and quickly offered the menus and a drink. The menu was varied and really in a seafood restaurant seafood should be the only choice. We ordered to start parma ham and advocado and Tiger prawns in a chili sauce- all very good and good portion sizes. For the main meal we had the lobster thermidore and King Prawn Taglietelle with a creamy sauce- againall prepared to a very good standard.
The decor felt very mediterranean with its crabs and shellfish on the walls. A little cheesy perhaps but created the atmosphere. The staff were great, very attentive but not in your face, we felt welcomed.
In all spent £68.00 including spirits, a little high maybe for two courses but we left stress free!
Would definately return as this is a small but friendly restaurant and a great local.

It is all to common to go out to eat, and if your meal or the service is not to your taste then the next morning at the crack of dawn you are up to write your three page essay of what was wrong from the food to the interior decor.
But if your meal was perfect and the serice was excellent then you drag your bulging frame home, satisfied but never mention it again, well maybe to the odd friend or family member.
Well a group of us were taken to the Beachcomber in Greenwich the other night for a meal tpo celebrate a birthday. And This is one of those places,A real hidden gem! The food was amazing and has such a warm inviting feeling like you are away on vacation. Service was terrific and we were welcomed in and treated like part of the family. So I decided not to keep quiet, but to rather share this little secret with the world.
Only sad side to this story is some property developers are trying to get them out, because they want to tear down the block and stick up some horrible hotel, which just doesnt seem to fit in with what greenwich is all about. Lets hope not!
