Maybe we caught them on a busy night, but frankly a bit disappointed as we'd heard good things. Food ok, not spectacular, service average. add this to the decor (this place really needs some form of makeover) and the same issue mentioned by other reviewers of the credit card terminal asking for a gratuity when it was already on the bill. Truly average.

I've eaten here on a number of occasions and have to say if you like authentic Thai food then this is one of the best places to eat. I lived in Thailand for a number of years and must say this is the closest you get to the real thing. The decor is typical of the kind of places you would eat at in Thailand, giving it a traditional feel (which is quite 70s). The atmosphere is a little cramped and hectic sometimes but has never really bothered me. I've never been disappointed with the food, although the service is quite slow, mainly because they're always so busy. The staff are friendly and good spirited. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will say that if you're use to and expecting westernised 'Chinese' food that many people are use to then you may be in for a bit of a shock. It's aint Chinese luv, it's Thai.

My friends and I adore Thai food and after sampling every Thai restaurant in a 5 mile radius we discovered we had yet to make a visit to Laicram.

I have to say - i will not be going back!

The service was average, the food bland and the restaurant itself is in dire need of a make over and some ventilation.

I started with the vegetarian spring rolls followed by a thai vegetable red curry and sticky rice. The Spring rolls were almost soggy they were so greasy and the curry was the most watery dish i have ever had. The rest of my party ordered meat and fish dishes - dumplings, pad thai, prawns with baby corn, green chicken curry and garlic fried rice. They weren't impressed by their food either however the pad thai did seem to please everyone.

Beware of the included service chanrge which is unmarked on the bill, when i asked the waitress if service was included she said no as i was entering my card details, only to say "sorry, yes it is" after we had paid - and tipped her!

All in all, very disappointing. We will be sticking to Ratchada up the road.

We eat here regularly and use it as a place for a quick dinner on the way home. Service and food are always excellent. Only bit to watch out for is the 15% service charge already added on the bill - they then give you the option to add a tip when you pay by card. You could end up paying 25%+ if you're not careful.

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the years and each time I have expected much and have always been disappointed. I was invited to visit again by some friends and yet again I found the service was not up to standard. It was slow and tedious with very little attention paid to what the guest wanted which makes me suspect that Chinese own this restaurant not a Thai. This was mainly caused by the cramped restaurant conditions and not much competition for Thai restaurants in Blackheath which means that everyone wants to go there. The food was good but portions were small and value was OK - but I know takeaways that are just as good. Others may think this is a good Thai restaurant having lived in Thailand and visited other Thai restaurants in London I suggest they get out more - visiting a Thai restaurant is not just about the food its about the Thai experience.

I love this place. Decor wise it's stuck in the 70s but the food is great, the service friendly and it isn't too pricey.

Be warned you frequently have to book - it's very popular with the locals - even on Monday nights!

This place is one of my regulars..the food is great. Eating can be a little squashed, but it adds to the atmosphere! I would recommend the Phad thai and their red chicken curry. Take-aways are fab too!
