What a shame! The food here is great, and I've been telling friends how good it is. But had a nasty experience last week which has really put me off. Went for dinner and one of our party didn't get the dish he ordered - not really much of a problem as it was still great - but we were really disappointed with the wine. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre, but as they didn't have any the waitress suggested Chablis. Fine, but it came to the table far from chilled - we'd had to ask for an ice bucket previously when we'd ordered a bottle of Prosecco at the bar, so we stuck it in there. But when we ordered a second bottle, the waitress explained that we'd had the last bottle. We'd have preferred to have one wine and stick to it, so we were quite disappointed to switch.
We explained our disappointment, but all the manager saw fit to do was change the charge for the wrong dish we were given to that of the dish that was actually ordered. i.e a £2 off gesture. The bill was around £170.
I don't think the chef deserves for the amazing food to be let down by poor wine service and lack of customer skills from the manager. The manager sent the waitress over with the £2 off gesture rather than come over himself after we'd spoken to him.
A real shame.

Absolutely awesome, probably the best gastro pub experience I have had in London. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely top quality, food is great, service friendly, wines really well chosen... can't praise the place enough. Also the BBQs are a treat in the summer and it's a nice place for a cheeky pint or twelve even when not eating.

I would just like to say congratulations to the owners of the Jolly Gardeners at Earlsfield for doing such a terrific job on creating a gem of a pub. They have just put the finishing touches to the bar area at the front and it looks and feels great. Smart and chic without ever being pompous or overstated.
I was there for dinner last week and the food was lovely. I had the fillet steak; it was done to perfection. I should take this opportunity to say thank you to the chef responsible for this: Zoltan, the steak was great as was the choccy sticky pudding serviced with homemade ice cream.
Talking of home made, apparently JG's are fans of making their own ingredients. I understand they make their own pasta, bread, humous, ice cream to name a few. Hats off to the kitchen, shows that they are serious about the food they serve.
I have been there in the summer as the garden out back makes for a great escape. Walk through the pub and out the back you will find a fabulous little sun trap, perfect place to soak up some summer sunshine with a drink in hand. Their wine list offers a great range of different labels from around the world so there is something for every taste as well as budget! If on the other hand you prefer to sink a beer there is a range of traditional and continental beers and lagers to choose from.
So, if you find yourself coming out of Earlsfield station and fancy heading off to the pub after a hard day at work, I would recommend the 5 minute walk up Garratt Lane (rather than fall in to the places just on the doorstep to the station) to discover this little hideaway.
I would consider it my local only I live 8 miles away.

The Jolly Gardeners is by far the best restaurant/pub in Earlsfield. The food is superb especially the fillet steak which is out of this world and cuts like butter! A fantastic place with a modern but cosy ambience with efficient and friendly service. Best of all the prices are very reasonable - it's difficult to find anywhere else that even comes close to the standard of cuisine and service that Ian and Gabby have achieved.

A group of 4 of us went to the Jolly Gardeners on Saturday night. The decor is lovely inside - the dining room is at the back and has pretty, soft lighting with fairy lights. The wine list is good, and sensibly priced for a local restaurant. The food was all good - while maybe not amazing - certainly well thought out and put together - all at reasonable prices. Service was great - friendly, relaxed, yet efficient. I always have a good time here - and so does everyone else who I take there. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night though - which is a shame as I think it's one of the best places in Earlsfield.

As locals we regularly find ourselves in the Jolly Gardeners. A quick pint after work invariably ends up with dinner. The menu changes regularly so there is always something new to tempt you. The recently refurbed garden is a nice touch too. This pub is great local gem

great little pub with a small but refreshing menu. specials board was a nice touch. If i was going to compare i would say its almost on a par with the anchor & hope in waterloo. I had the rump steak, which was juicy, tasty and came with a moorish bearnaise sauce and chips. my wife had the gnocchi - no complaints from her! Good to see a pub making their own bread....delicious!
