From the website this place looks like quite a classy one but on arriving it was quite the opposite. We went to eat in the restaurant but first had to pass 2 sets of security staff and walk through a metal detector... We were then asked if we wanted to put our coats in the cloakroom...for £2 per item! I've never been to a restaurant where they charge you. The warning bells should have started ringing then but we gave it the benefit of the doubt and decided to go with our plan of eating in the restaurant. We were shown to our table and asked whether we would like a drink. I ordered a Whisky Sour, which I presumed, being a cocktail bar, wouldn't be a problem but the waiter didn't know what it was so I had to spell it and write it down for him. We then waited over 20 minutes for our drinks to be served in which time the music had been turned up so loud that we were yelling at each other across the table and had to ask for it to be turned down but then realised it had been turned up so loud because there was different music playing in the adjoining room which they were trying to drown out. Essentially, what i'm saying is that this place is primarily a club...which happens to serve food. The food was average considering the price at £16 for a steak and potatoes. If you are looking for a Sketch Brasserie type evening don't go here because you won't get it. If you're a group of friends out on a night where you want to go to a club but think it would be best to eat something before the night begins and you're not short of a few pennies then this is your place. A typical boozy 'West End' hangout in my opinion.

£11.50 charge for the privelege of eating in Paper before any tipping. The menu was vastly different to that shown on the website (just steaks, burgers and pizzas on offer). So in no way ideal, even if the service was friendly and setting was nice.

Paper should be renamed PRETENTIOUS. I have never been to such an over rated place in all my life. Staff are rude, ill mannered and generally not aware i think that they were working in a night club and the whole aim of a good time was not a priority, rather it was no you can't sit here, no you can't put your bag down, no you can't take your shoes off, no no no no no !!!!! to everything...except YES when taking your crdit card to pay for over priced iced drinks. Then to add insult to injury a bar mans trick ended up landing over my friends dress .......

The dance floor was barely free of space to move as there was no where to sit except if you were stamped with VIP...then bar staff pushed their way through the dance floor with champagne bottles and flare guns to tell the world look at me i am spending £500 on a bottle of champayne, for vips sitting around the dance floor.... It was like something from a freek show, people were stuck up, miserable and clearly the place does not get the best out of people!

I love the club as it has the best atmosphere and dance floor and I go every now and then, I'm not so sure about the restaurant though.

The atmopshere isn't great - every single time I've been it has been more empty then full. The food tastes great but the choice is terrible, only about 3 or so more choices to choose from. This would be fine in a foodie restaurant, but I'm not sure it's as good as it thinks.

The staff are really friendly.

It could be fun if there are a lot of you, and I would return for a fail-safe meal, but if I was going to bother looking into it I would go somewhere more atmospheric, as this really lets it down.

Polite and attentive staff, welcomed professionally. Restaurant was completely empty when we got there at 8pm but soon filled up. Decor looked a bit cheap in fairness. Good atmosphere in restaurant (eventually).

Had the duck starter and the chicken for mains which were both pretty good. Desserts weren't brilliant. Meal came to £550 for 6 of us!!

Good food but very, very overpriced for what you got.

Club was good fun with great atmosphere.

As for the ultra-glamorous people - a lot of chavs pestering you for drinks as compensation for accidently bumping into them!!

Drinks were expensive in the bar as well. What annoyed most people was the 13.5% service charge. Why not just incorporate the service charge into the price instead of asking customers if they were happy to pay the non-optional service charge!!!

A good night but way overpriced for the food and surroundings

I went to Garden restaurant in Paper club recently with a group of friends for a birthday celebration and it was the best night we have had in ages. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and they made us feel really special. The beautiful garden deco is so unique. The only thing we did not quite like was the music, towards the end it kind of got mixed up with the music from the club. After the meal we continued in Paper club and it was just the perfect night!
