The Lounge Chislehurst

Tried the Lounge for the first time last weekend and was very impresed well worth the 40 mintue cab ride from Maidstone. I like putting on my new shoes when i go out so to speak and making the effot and that is what i thought of The Lounge they have mad the effot from staff to decore to service there are not many place's round my way like this.Also noticed above the bar that The Lounge won best newcomer in 2007. Will be trying the thai restaurant soon.

The lounge is typically full of footballer's wives, wannabee footballer's wives, and secondhand car dealers. Basically, all the girls have varying shades of blond hair (some fake, some real), and are mostly size eights, who talk and laugh too loud, drink too much wine and spend too much time on their mobile phones. The men are mostly dressed-up, but are still very 'blokey-bloke' types (plasterers and scondhand car dealers). The chandeliers are an ostentatious and, in this venue, a rather pretentious addition. The beer selection is b awful - £3.20 for a pint of Fosters? Oh, and they now do John Smiths and Strongbow. Not a real ale in sight, and the wine prices make Mayfair look cheap! Saying that, to be fair, the garden is quite nice, and surprisingly quiet. Basically, I agree with similar sentiments in this forum, that the best time to go is on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon.

We went to the Thai on the Hill for a meal on Friday evening. The decor of the restaurant was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The menu was sensational as was the food. It was very reasonably priced and it was great to find a decent local Thai.

I am a local resident and have not been to The Lounge since it has been open there has been alot of bad press on this venue since it has been open but i went last friday night and had the best time i have had out around this area. the dj was from samsons an old club i used to go to. The staff was very quick and very polite will defonatly be back there next week.

Having gone to the newly established night of sizzling salsa dancing for men and women on a wednesday night, at 8.30 I thought the bar was excellent. Lovely to get cocktails at reasonable prices (although served a little slowly), atnosphere and staff all very welcoming, great garden for smokers (dont feel like so much of an outcast..everyone seems to smoke here!). It was nice that oibviously those people were in there for the dancing...everyone was polite and friendly and having a good time, and those locals obviously too scared to give the dancing a go didnt make newcomers feel watched or embarrased...alround nice night..shame about the paintings on the wall however...a little moulin rouge for my taste!!

Heard lots of different things, so went with an open mind....loved the music, mixture of alltypes, but def a place to pose. This was a Friday night visit, so reading other reviews may try a Sunday!

Hmm in comparision to the other reviews, mine seems to be seeing the place through eyes which remembered the Lounge as being the White Horse pub........................so apart from new lights on the ceiling the place is still the same! oh apart from new bar stools

And the barman had a lovely little sequin top on ???????????????

This bar has all the possibilities to be A1. Friendly & professional management, fab decor and great music. Unfortunately the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. Full of posers and wannabe's all staring each other up and down and trying to outdo each other, in fact the men have more highlights than the woman.

Last time I saw this many gansters and their moles I was watching Casino.

Still this has to be better than hanging out with all the chavs who frequent all the other local bars!

My advice - go on a Sunday when the place is full of more relaxed peps and they have live music!!

Went to the Lounge Bankholiday Sunday and the place is very well deckerated with the very glittzie fill about the place the hoast makes you fill welcome from the minute you walk in the door which is what i like when i go out .I was seated to my table and intruduced to my waitress which i was very impressed. The service was spot on and will be returning to The Lounge as there is not many place'sto go now in Essex .

Went to The Lounge last Saturday as it's very near to me and I must say that I will not be going back! Very overrated and full of tanned blondes who eyeball you! Services was good but atmosphere terrible!
