New menu is lovely with a good choice of starters and mains. We shared the tortelloni special which was made fresh on the premises and a delicious fillet steak. The puddings are even nicer than before, I still am undecided on which I preferred: the pear and cinnamon pannacota, or the amaretto and orange creme brulee. Both were very light and flavoursome.

As usual, the staff were friendly and happy to help. We were glad we followed their advice on sharing the mains as we are both so indecisive!

I'm italian and every time I go out for a pizza I always think it is not going to be how it should. The pizza I had at Scarpetta was instead one of the best I ever had so far! The base was thin and crispy and the ingredients were carefully choosen and extremely tasted! (it was a Bufala to be exact: bufala mozzarella, cerry tomatos, speck and rocket = BEAUTIFUL!). The restaurant is definitely an authentic italian one and the staff is nice and friendly. I loved it!

great place to dine out. the decor is great and inviting.

the food is fine. lobster tortelloni is a must, the waiting staff recommended pinot nero(yes pinot nero which turned out to be actully white), and he was right.

great wine to drink with shellfish.

panna cotta with apricot and pistachio was delishh, if a touch soft.

my husband opted for the mature sirloin with wild mushrooms and looked satisfied.

he had a galss of dessert wine with his toffe pudding.

one of the only places left in our locality which do not hammer you with a compulsory service charge. we always leave a gratuity percentage anyway, as the service is almost always spot on. (we know most of the staff by their first name by now anyway.)

sorry it has taken me so long to leave a review for this fab restaurant, but better late than never.

all in all well chuffed with our great local italian.

the only regret is that i was told the lobster tortelonni is coming off the next menu, but i am sure they are going to replace it with another tastey dish.

lovely new menu. the new dishes sound and taste great.

we tried the new fish salad and chicken liver starters and were not disappointed.

the lobster and crab tortellni was really tasty, my boyfriend opted for the lamb rack and was well satisfied. i am so glad to see the chocolate fondente back on while his majesty ordered the panna cotta with apricot and pistachios.

the wine list is much more balanced than the last one, with quite few of not too well known but abslotuley gracious numbers listed. i were recommended falanghina to wash down the tortelloni and was not let down.

we love our great local italian and may it continue to fill us with warmth and joy over and over.

very tasty menu. the cornish squid and corgette fries were a lovely combination. good to see the lobster pasta back, and washed down by the ever so refreshing pinot grigio forchir. EKTULENTE. loved the cheesecake.

service warm and welcoming as ever. specially with 3 kids in tow.( the spouse was in charge this time so i could enjoy the wine with our friends)

good to see, some people are still making an effort to provide a delicious range of dishes at reasonable prices.

very pleased with the new menu, the burrata cheese and tomatoes (an imaginative way of doing caorese), was yummy.

now, you can not get more traditional than linguine vongole and simple enough for anyone to cook. but this time, it wwas heavenly and at a price under a tenner well worth it.

seabass main again, very classic, accompanied by grilled mix veges. the whole fish gutted out and butterflied, is not for the weak stomacks, but hay once in rome... well cooked and the veg on the right side of crunchiness.

my husband opted for the cornish calamari, the mushroom ravioli and the rack of lamb. he was quite well satisfied with the fresh squid taste and pasta. although he found the lamb slightly under-cooked, which was corrected by the chef afyer his request.

my mango and yoghurt mousse was refreshing and pleasantly light. Alan decided to sit the dessert out and was quite happy with a glass of dessert wine and espresso.

all in all, we had another pleasing evening at our favourite local restaurant.

hats off to the new head chef and the crew.

i went to Scarpetta last week and pleasantly surprised by the new menu, although I absolutely loved the food before the new choices make a really nice change.

The burrata cheese starter was gorgeous, I'd not tasted anything like it before, and the mushroom ravioli was incredibly tasty and creamy. There are also amazing puddings now on offer: I shared strawberries in balsamic vingar and cherry cake, both totally melt in the mouth.

I'm looking forward to trying the lunch menu next time which includes a Kobi beef burger and pasta with smoked mozarella...can't wait!

My husband and I recently dined at Scarpetta and were incredibly impressed. Friends of ours who live in nearby Ham have been boasting about the quality of their local eateries for some time, especially Scarpetta, so we decided to sample the much praised food for ourselves, and were so glad we did.

The service was brilliant. Our waitress in particular was lovely, and we were greeted by a warm, friendly atmosphere and understated, elegant decor. I was impressed by the choice of food on offer and found it refreshing to have an alternative to the standard dishes typically served at Italian restaurants in London.

We shared a garlic pizza bread as a starter, then I had the duck (which was delicious) and my husband had a calzone which he informed me was better than the last one he'd had on our holiday in Tuscany! The desserts were heavenly, I had creme brulee, but must admit I was slightly jealous of the chocolate fondente that my husband had chosen. We spent a really enjoyable evening at Scarpetta and plan on spending many more, it definitely has my recommendation.
