Hai Ha

I've always enjoyed Hai Ha over the years. It's a bit of a Hackney institution. However everything seems to have changed. It looks like it may have changed hands and the menu has changed. We had a totally tasteless tofu satay to start, which was covered with a pale brown tasteless gunk. Followed by a sizzling hot curry, which was basically a pot of gravy soup. The sea bream and egg fried rice were ok but nothing special. It's such a shame as we used to love it there.

Hai Ha has been re-born. It has had a long overdue refurb and it looks cosy and inviting. Plus they have a new Chef and menu and the food is totally amazing, good quality produce, wonderfully fresh ingredients and the taste must wonderful. Cannot wait to go back. Its a definite must to try.
10 out of 10!

I have to say that overall the food at Hai ha is quite good, I have eaten with them on several occasions (take away and in the restaurant) and they have yet to disappoint me.
I love there house hot and sour soup it's lush (if you like spicy hot then it's recommended)
The decor is a little tired though hey...who goes to an eatery to look at the wall paper!?, the chef is the important part.
Best wishes to them

I've used Hai Ha for lunch for years . Maybe once every couple of months. I've also eaten here in the evenings and had takeaway a few time. I've always had good service and good food. Tasty, well cooked and very good value for money. They do all the usual Vietnamese dishes, but their home made ho fun in soup with duck is fabulous! Comfort food of the first order. It's a simple cafe, so don't expect frills.
Cannot believe the previous review!

This has to be the worst take away i have ever had. It was so bad i couldn't eat it. The Spring rolls were burnt & soggy & when you bit into them the burnt veggies & grease came out. How they managed to get that wrong is amazing.
The vegetables with tofu were gloppy & tasteless and the fish with chilli was swimming in grease. It was a complete waste of money and very very BAD. I hate throwing food out but this went straight in the bin.
PLEASE DO NOT order from here unless you want the most disappointing meal you will ever have.
This place needs reported as its a crime that they gave you the food they do.
