After a great many good Vietnamese meals in Kingsland Road and Hackney, this was revelatory. We first wandered in here shortly after a 10-week trip to Vietnam, and it immediately eclipsed any other Vietnamese restaurants we'd experienced in London. One day I may try some of the other items on the menu, but the Bun Bo Hue is so good I have it every time I come (hence I can't give a full 10/10!). There's no point searching for alternatives, when you've found the real thing. It's become our default restaurant.

we went to Hai ha late in the evening but they were very happy to let us in to have a meal. But once we had sat down the waitress was moody and was trying to hurry our order. We didn't take particularly long to eat but were hurried at the end, with the waitress pulling our plates away whilst some of us were still eating. And stripping the table of its cloth whilst we were sitting there. She was also going back to the other waitress and gossiping in between serving us. If a restaurant is happy to take you in late, they should also be happy to let you eat your meal in a reasonable amount of time. The service totally took away from the evening and left a very bitter taste in our mouths.
