I was tempted to give a bad review so that "my little secret" didn't get too popular, but I can't bring myself to do that! I've nearly always had the pizza (either a piccante or meat delizia) with either a panna cotta or a crepe. They've never disappointed. I've occasionally had the specials and they've always impressed too. In summary, it is simple but bold food cooked intelligently and with gusto. Just make sure you come equipped with a big appetite!

We recently ate dinner here and were delighted to find a "proper" Italian restaurant just like you might find in the back streets of many Italian cities and towns. The room is quite small and the food is prepared in the same space as the dining area. The menu consists of mainly classic Italian dishes. Our main course choices of pizza, salmon and lasagne were nicely presented, plentiful and fresh tasting and we accompanied the food with a decent, but reasonably priced Chianti. The service was charming and friendly and the final bill represented excellent value. Highly recommended.

I went to Losteria57 recently. Good menu, excellent food, good wine list. The wine bar downstairs is great, but could do with a few more people (rather than just us). Upstairs is small and intimate with attentive wait staff. Recomended.
