The Lock

I have visited this restaurant on various occasions with friends, family and with work collegues for our recent Christmas meal. Everytime the food has been excellent and the service very attentive. Decided to take my family yesterday for a treat only to discover the restaurant has now closed. Such a shame

Sunday lunch is excellent value. The staff are friendly and always remember if you have visited before. Good food, well cooked and presented. and - wicked mojitos!

Have not been to the Lock for over a year. Delighted to see that nothing has changed. Great food, nice staff. Thanks goodness it has not succumbed to the ravages of the recession.

lovely food and service, took some friends for dinner that live near by and they have been back twice since, love the new menu, keep up the good work, we need more of this kind of goodness in this neck of the woods

Went to The Lock last night with three girlfriends had the most wonderful meal

everything was perfect and the service was equally as good i could not recommend this restaurant highly enough we will be returning soon.

Made use of their eat for under a fiver promotion on a weeknight. Not much choice on this set menu but all the dishes were all fantastic esp the guinea fowl. Service was good too and its not too formal or haughty. Highly recommended.

Saturday 28 February 2009. I had been to The Lock twice before and was already impressed by the quality and variety of the menu. The wine card is excellent too. I took three friends, all very serious foodies, there for the tasting menu. We were all very impressed. There were no weak parts to the menu and the standard of cooking was superbly judged over the whole seven courses, that is unusual. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant greatly benefits from a knowledgeable maitre d' who offered us well informed guidance. I hope this restaurant prospers as the staff clearly enjoy what they are doing. It is tremendous to have somewhere of this quality in N17 on our doorstep rather than having always to shlep into central London for somewhere decent to eat. Indeed central Londoners would do well to get themselves on the Victoria line out to Tottenham Hale!
