your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

read some of the reviews and was sceptical when the restaurant was chosen for a night out.

Food - was fantastic, great quality meat and the preparation was equally good

Service - exemplary, very friendly and the staff explained the courses and how each dish was prepared. Did not suggest the most expensive thing on the menu

Atmosphere - went on a week night so it was quiet but would never stop me from going back.

A realy fantastic place and will be recommending it to everyone I know

I hadn't read any previous reviews of Su La when venturing into New Malden today, stopping a Korean woman in the street to ask her where to have lunch. She immediately recommended Su La (and also the Ghengis Khan Chinese restaurant almost next door). It was excellent, very reasonable and the service was exemplary. My wife (who is Japanese and both knowledgeable and fussy about Asian food) was very happy with her vegetable hotpot with rice which came in a sizzling earthenware bowl in which the rice and vegetables were stirred with a hot sauce. It was delicious (as I of course had some too). My squid and rice dish came beautifully sauced at just the right piquanc, We also ordered kimchee, which came with three other pickles, and were served a sliced orange at the end of the meal. Tea was of course served throughout without us requesting it. The bill was a shade less than £13 for a more than adequate meal, politely and quickly served.

I concur with the previous review. I was invited there by a client for lunch. Both of us are women, we noticed that the Korean business men who arrived after us were served almost immediately while we were totally ignored for at least half an hour. The food was nothing special compared to other Korean restaurant in the area and we had to hurry our lunch when it finally arrived as we had to get back to work. Not impress at all. Won't be back there again.

Koreans are known for giving generous portions, to say SuLa dissappointed was an understatment! The barbecued beef was very expensive for what we got, it's traditionally eaten with lettuce, chillies and garlic which all incurred additional fees...wouldnt mind if the meet hadn't been so expensive. Ordered beer three times, never came but appeared on the bill. The worst thing was the attitude of the manageress who intervened when the helpful waitress was seemingly annoying her. When I asked why the korean business men who came in after us were served first, offered hot towels and seats for their bags (none of which we were offered!) we were told that if we wanted to experience korean culture we should go to korea, to which my friend replied 'well i would but I've got work in the morning!' Having lived in korea for four years (and being married to a korean) I was surprised at the mean sprited attitude!! Needless to say we didnt pay the 10% service charge
