I am really pleased to read a few poor reviews of the Singburi as that leaves more room at this lovely friendly place serving the most delicious food in unpretentious surroundings, if you don't like it here go to that over priced pretentious nonsense of a place in Fulham.

I could not disagree more with your comments. The food whenever I have been has been very flavoursome and never oily. That's one of the reasons I love this place. The flavours are genuine and expertly made.

I'm guessing you went a while ago as the restaurant is not open in January.

Have to agree about the oily food, we found it inedible and largely tasteless.

Food was mediocre for Thai. I know some people say that the Decor is part of the atmostphere but keep the Atmostphere and buy some paint for heavens sake!

If you are eating here for the decor you are completely missing the point. This is some of the best Thai cooking in London but also cheap and full of character and friendliness. A true find.

Went to Singburi a couple of Friday's ago. after all the fab reviews.

The food is very tasty, but I found it slightly on the oily side, unual for Thai. The staff are extremely friendly and it is good it is a BYO.

As a personal thing, I think the decor for an evening meal is a bit off putting, but thats just me and it is good it has such a big following.

If anybody feels the same, they should try Ploy Thai on Leabridge Rd. They do not have a BYO policy, but it is just as reasonable food wise as Singburi.

This is the best Thai restaurant in London, the food is amazing especially the Chicken Thai red curry, ask for it a bit hotter and its fab. Thelma is so friendly too. Bring your own drink as not licenced. I have been loads and am going again next week ! K & P

Leytonstone isn't the most glamorous location but this place is really good! Unlike a lot of Thai restaurants it offers decent value for money and the food itself is very good. The Pad Thai reminds me of those I have had in Bangkok, while the prawns in garlic sauce is a must.

The service can be variable (ie, really poor or good) but it's a small place, and you forget about it once you tuck in.

So good I almost don't want to tell you about it! The food here is amazing. Love the papaya salad, pad thai and prawns with ginger. Fantastic value for money. By far and away the best thai food in the area.

And don't be put off by the not so glamorous decor it adds to the charm of the place

Very good value for money, and very authentic Thai food - ie spicy not bland like some other places I could mention! Interior is also authentic looking, reminded us of a place we went to in Thailand only thing missing was the beach. Friendly satff.
