We are regulars at Marco Polo, for both the setting and the food.

While the service can be hit or miss the staff are always happy and fun and give service with a smile.

The food is always good and everyone we have taken there has gone back on their own.

Can't beat it for a nice summer evening or Sunday afternoon.

A magnificent view can help to forgive some peccadillo. Unfortunately Marco Polo is a disgrace for the Italian cousine. The risotto was overcooked to extreme level and certainly not edible as most of the menu (with too many french words and too many spelling mistake on the Italian translation). Even the pizzas were mediocre. The service equally poor due to shortage of staff. What a disappointment!!

I keep going back but only for the location which is shame. Yet again last week I had hoped the service had improved but not. My starter came lukewarm, main course after a long wait. We passed on desserts as we wanted a late night drink in putney and had to ask for it 3 times with different waiters. Next time it'll be pizza and wine. Keep it simple.

we have been 3 times and had fantastic food and service everytime. Great pasta.

It is a brilliant location for outside summer dinning and a perfect place to meet for a drink before with lovely leather couches.

Atmosphere a little lost inside.

Good location and lots of potential. The owners have obviously spent a lot of money setting it up. Atmosphere lively, but not keen on dogs allowed to sit by owners on outside tables.

Service was reasonable but food mediocre - veal was overcooked; veg was hard and cool; dessert had been microwaved for insufficient time and had one warm spot.

I would return only as a last resort and just for a pizza.

As we walk past this restuarant on our way to work, I took my girlfriend out on Friday night for an evening meal by the river - a fantastic location, perfect for a warm evening.

It turned out to be rather disappointing though as the food was average, but the service was very poor. We were left to pour our own wine, were not asked if things were OK at any point and generally treated as though we were a nuisance being there! We overheard another table having the same experience and a third requesting to see the manager after waiting an hour for their meals, getting the wrong food and the waiter acting as though it wasn't his problem!

All rather disappointing!
