Babinondas Restaurant

What a wonderful experience! I went, and always go here with my husband and friends. The atmosphere is fab and so is the food, especially the octopus and prawns, which my friend enjoyed so much she asked for an extra starter portion on the side. It seems very strange that anyone would have a bad experience here, the staff are so friendly and always wanting to please. I'm always trying to squeeze one last delicious bite in even when stuffed. Everyone I go there with always enjoys the food regardless of what they eat.It's great value and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Too crowded, very cold building with dusty plastic plants everywhere with hideous paintings on the walls. I asked for a chicken kebab with doulmades, but they were out of both (this was on a friday evening about 7pm) so i had to have pork instead which came dry, rubbery and hard. Very big portions but why would you want to eat a load of something that doesnt taste nice?

Was completely tasteless. All they had available for dessert was dull ice cream flavours.

Will not go back again.

We had our daughter's christening here in July. All the guests were impressed with the amount of food that came to the table and the quality of the food. There came a point where the guests could not eat anymore, a traditional Cypriot meze! All the waiters were friendly and the quality of service was excellent meeting everyone's needs. Due to the fact that everyone was friendly it made the atmosphere very relaxed. Everything was done to the standard that we expected therefore it made our daughter's special day a very memorable day.

very nice food, traditional and uplifting. fresh fish and salads recommended to try. good friendly service. reasonably priced. would recommend to anyone who is a fan of greek food.

Food was excellent, service fantastic, the atmosphere was very friendly, felt like you were home, value of money was ok but overall we had a fantastic time,  we`ll definetely go back there.

Not a great experience.

We have eaten in this restaurant once, and will not be returning.

Although it was a week night the restaurant seemed a little cold in terms of atmosphere. The food was average and the prices were on the high side.

Fantastic!

Lovely little restaurant, brilliant service. The portions are very large,very good value for money. The mixed starter is fantastic value and very tasty, is is enought to share, we shared the mixed starter and a portion of feta cheese with warm toated pittas. The main course was delicious and portions are very large much bigger than we expected them to be,so much so that we asked our waiter if we could take them away as we were so stuffed from the starters we could barely eat the mains! lol He took the plates away and returned with all our leftovers boxed up in individual containers. The waiters were very attentive and everything was brought to the table very quickly.All in all Babinondas is a lovely restaurant it was a pleasure to eat there, I would deffinately reccomend it to anyone.

The only downside was that the beer was quite expensive, but the low food prices more than make up for it.

What a shame (in response to the last review). I was recently part of a Christening party and the food and service was excellent. The staff were extremely professional and were even happy to warm up baby milk for us! The food was good, which is usually not the case when you are part of a large party.

I would visit Babinondas again. With regard to the "shouting from the kitchen" comment, this is very much a Greek thing (Greeks tend to be hot-headed and probably even more so in a hot kitchen environment!), so I wouldn't say that this was indictative of a poor working environment- its just how Mediterraneans express themselves.

The food itself wasn't too bad if the prices were fair. I have been three to four times thankfully I never being on the recieving end of the Bill/Cheque mainly beeing we found ourselves over charged on all three/four visits. The service was un-balanced being that both and or not apparent. The staff looked over worked and the owner came across pushy when ordering. Suggesting the Meze even after stating we wanted otherwise. Maybe its cheaper for him to sell the meze. Thats what we believe.

Over all I'd give it a 2 out of 5, lacking in value and quality. You even sometimes hear abuse roaring from the kitchin. Not the best three to four experiences.

Wouldn't recomend if you want to look for a decent place to eat.

we had a family meal for 10, we all had the Meze, the food was great until the fish arrived and then the meat dishes these were dull dry and tasteless, like they had been kept warm for so long, the meatballs were awful,

what a shame, It spoilt our experience.

The service was very good and fast. The bill was satisfactory, overall we had a good day, but I wont be using this this place to impress anyone.
