Blink and you might not see this place. Situated at lower ground level at Kensington High Street, this restaurant is quite a gem. Price was reasonable and food were delicious. Also, ambience was good although I did find the restaurant too be a bit small. There were not many guests though which is a shame cos theres so much that this restaurant can offer.

Owner was busy in the kitched and didnt really bother to ask us how our meal was or if we needed anything else. But other than that, if you can overlook a few glitches, you'll definitely enjoy the food.

Worth a try...

I ate here after reading all the positive reviews, and was looking foward to an excellent meal. The decor, service, staff and menu are all excellent, but the food itself left a lot of be desired. It was flavourless and undercooked. Perhaps i am spoilt with the excellent thai food we have in Australia, but i would definately say this was average, if not below average.

Great price especially for lunch from £5-£7 per dish.

Friendly and cozy atmosphere.

Tasty food, authentic Thai cuisine. I know it as I'm Thai.

Highly recommended.

We recently ate at the Papaya Tree for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. There is a relaxed environment, and the staff are happy for their customers to take their time choosing and eating their food. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return with friends very soon.

This is the sort of restaurant one can easily walk by without even noticing. Thank goodness it was listed on here, because we wanted something in the area and this turned out to be ideal.

The food was excellent, the service friendly and punctual and the prices reasonable. It's not often you can feed four hungry adults and two children for under £80 (including service). The red curry duck and the grilled fish were particularly delicious.

As I've indicated, it is a bit difficult to find, as the restaurant is actually situated in the basement of a building on High Street Kensington. Instead of feeling dark however, they made it feel cozy inside, a perfect escape from the hussle and bussle, not to mention cold, outside. Definitely worth seeking out.

Excellent food in this funky little restaurant. Very authentic Thai cuisine that is bursting with flavour.

Very romantic atmosphere with the dimmed lights and gentle music for a nice evening out.

Great spot for lunch too.

We went to Papaya Tree early this week to celebrate my in-laws' wedding anniversary. They have some excellent starters. The main course was scrumptious and well flavoured.

It is a quaint little place fit for the times, one wants to escape the regular hustle and bustle of a restaurant.Great Service.

I would be planning a second trip to it very soon.....

This is one of my favourite lunch time restaurants where my colleagues and I go frequently.

They serve reasonably priced lunch menu and the food is absolutely delicious.

I recommend their popular Pad Thai noodles and Green Curry Fried Rice.
