I went to Joury yesterday evening and if Ihad to sum up the whole experience in one word it would just be "fun". However, the dissapointing part of it was the bill time when me and my 2 friends discovered that 3 drinks and 2 shishas would equal to a total of £62.

Although its overpriced the waiters, seating, atmosphere, view and the quality of everything was at a prestigous level. Joury Cafe lives up to its expectations of being located near by the infamous Harrods.

The music playing in the background also adds to the whole overall effect of enjoyment and the decor is phenomenal.

I would definately recomend you go there, but dont gasp once you recieve the bill in the end.

Regular prices in London are £20 per head. For this area (knightsbridge) the prices are still at £20 so good in that aspect. Food is good. Service is a bit slow but quantity and quality of food is good, esp the meat.

If you dont eat and have shisha indoors (due to a licence - thnk goodness), there is a fee of £20 for shisha and no food, otherwise shisha is reasonable.

Great place to eat overall. Cosy interior.

I have just had lunch at Cafe Joury and was extremely disappointed. The bill came to £27 for two: we had 2 mezzes and 2 shish taok wraps. I eat alot of Lebanese food so believe I do know what I am talking about with regard to Lebanese food and what to expect. Unfortunately the salad in the Fatoush was limp and looked and tasted as if it was a week old. The chicken in the wrap was tough and tasted of herbs which made me think the herbs had been added to disguise the fact that the chicken was old as I have never had herby chicken in a shish taok wrap before. One of the waiters looked very out of it and was also extremely rude to the friend I was having lunch with. All in all I will definitely never go back to this place and certainly would never recommend it.

I was onthe Brompton Road yesterday lunchtime, and was looking to eat something other than a sandwich.

So, I visited Joury.

It took about 7 minutes before anyone came and seated me, as they were too busy chatting!

I decided to eat the Shish Taouk.

When the waiter asked what I would like to drink, I said tap water. He replied "would you like still or sparkling?"!!!

The dish came and it was so well done, that I could barely dig my teeth into it! Why I don't know, as the entire restaurant was empty, so they weren't exactly rushed off their feet!

I requested no tomatoes, and the salad consisted of tomatoes!

I had to wait for someone to show up, as there were no staff around, to ask for the bill. They were too busy hiding in a side room, chatting away.

When someone did arrive, I had to go to the bar, and get the bill myself.

£1.00 had been added without me being notified. When I asked why, I was told it was because I decided to eat in.

Unless you have money and valuable time to throw around, I would cetainly not visit this place.

It is absolutely appauling!

I have been there twice now. I went the first time with 4 girls and the second 2 girls. The waiters where slightly rude I must admit. They swore in arabic which I could understand just becuase the girls wanted to keep there glasses which had ice in them. What can I say they like to eat ice! Generally the bill comes to £60 each time we go for 2 shishas and around 3 drinks. Quite fairly priced!?!

As a fan of Lebanese and Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine, eating dinner at Joury was an excellent experience. The overall ambience and mood of the restaurant with its dimmed down lights and open air setting suits well for a late night dinner. While some go there to relax and smoke the hashish, I went for the dinner. While my koobideh (ground beef) main meal was tasty, the mezzes are the highlight, especially the hummus, kufteh, and the yogurt mixed with cucumber. These mezzes are ideal because you can order three or four and share them with a few people. All in all, the food is top notch and among the best Lebanese food I have had. Although it is a little pricy, the quality of the dishes back sup the price while the warm, cordial service makes the dinner even more enjoyable. Joury is a great place to hang out and eat dinner with a couple of friends or to treat your significant other out to a exquisite meal with many unique delights.

The price is clearly stated in the menu, outside the restaurant, take it or leave it, This place is in main Knightsbridge opposit Harrods, so you should go some where at the same level as where you belong.

We visited the place on the 12th of April with my boyfriend. Before entering the restaurant, we asked the waiter whether we could pay with American Express. After getting a positive reply (twice) we asked for a table for two. However, what we got was a 30cmx60cm table, inadequate to accommodate two big plates of food decently. The menu was not interesting, and although I was starving, I couldn't find anything appealing enough to order. Most dishes were for vegeterians, and there were only a few dishes with meat/fish/chicken. I ordered the Lentil Soup and the Kebab with rice, and my boyfriend ordered the Daud Basha (meatballs with potatoes). When the soup arrived, I could barely find ONE lentil in it! It was thick and tasteless, unlike what I perceive as a proper lentil soup. I also asked for some pita bread, which came late and was cold. By that time the waiters were extremely rude, they couldnt speak english at all, they wouldnt stop spying on our plates and we were harassed for the plates even before finishing our food. And then the apocalypse: the main dishes landed on our table and I (still starving) couldn't find any excuses to stay in that place any longer. My plate consisted of vegetables, and one tiny piece of kebab was lying on top of 3 spoons of rice. I have to admit however that my boyfriend's portion was decent (but not tasty at all). At the end of the dinner, we were hungry and angry. We asked for the bill and guess what! They wouldnt accept American Express! I reminded the other waiter what we were told at the beginning, payed 25GBP by cash and left. His apologies regarding his colleague's incompetency to speak english, weren't consoling enough to make us feel better for this disastrous evening in this wannabe restaurant. We would never go back...

A really nice place and great shisha, food is average price but delicious, but the drinks are phenomenally priced, a coke for £3 isnt great, half a pint for £3.50. Still worth going if your around it
