Great looking pub, nice atmosphere and friendly staff (although poor english for some).

Terrible food. Ordered the 'Fajitas' (plural) and was gutted when a Fajita (single) turned up. Was looking for the traditional sizzling dish and make-your-own fare, but got something that was quite honestly the worse dish every presented to me in a gastro-pub. The inside was actually fridge-cold, they had forgotten to heat it up. Which makes you wonder how fresh the food actually is...

The fries were very obviously cooked two or three times, were cold and like cardboard.

Credit to them, the friendly staff took away the offending dish and delivered a replacement lamb burger. While small, was very tasty and the brand new fries were hot and fresh.

My girlfriend's steak while quite tasty, was small and stringy - not quality meat.

Ordered away from the house wine, but the Sauvignon Blanc tasted like a £2.99 bottle... so paying £15ish hurt.

The pub was also incredibly smokey with no non-smoking section. I cannot wait until the ban comes into force.

Great location, lots of potential... will not return until reviews massively improve.

Went on a quiet Sunday evening, but what a delightful find. Cosy and softly lit, it was the perfect space for relaxation. As for the food, my partner and I both tucked into the warm chicken salad with roasted peppers and butternut squash with a 'light' vinaigrette dressing. I have not enjoyed a salad so much in a long time; the chicken was generous in quantity, nicely chargrilled, and the combination of ingredients worked beautifully. Adding a particular interest was the addition of mixed seeds including poppy and pumpkin for a twist on the standard oil and vinegar dressing. Recommended on the basis of this alone, though the upstairs bar looked like the perfect place for a private party - with river views to boot.

Visiting friends in the area I've been to this pub several times as one of the few locals. The pub itself is nice enough and the staff friendly. But.....the food......oh dear. Eaten there a couple of times now as my friend seems to like it but I'm afraid I'm totally underwhelmed. The first time I had their 'homemade' burger. Made in a midgets home maybe because this thing was tiny, overcooked, tepid and came with less fries than a 'happy meal'. All for the grand sum of nearly 8 quid. The next time I thought I'd be wiser and order the lamb burger (£8.50) - they got me again - bring back the beefburger! No, it was even worse and even colder.

Sorry, I really don't advise you eat here. It's a pub and I suggest you have a few beers (Cobra on tap) and eat in town.
