Saravana Bhavan

Definitely one of the best places to eat veggie Indian food in london. Though it does not have a very good service, the food is awesome and really cheap.
I have tried the so-called great restaurants in London, but this place definitely offers the best authentic Indian food - both south Indian and north Indian

Went to Saravana bhavan. Wow!!! What great food! Chilli paneer, Dosa, Idli, Sambhar, Vada, Gobi 65 (amazing), fried rice etc etc. All fantastic.
Only downside, the chocolate milkshake was just nesquick!

It is like back home
have to wait too long, server pass by u so often but dont even care to say how long it take and dont even wait until u finish enquiring the service delay in ordered dishes.
no service manners at all, their attitude- cant be explained in words.
one of the server placed the main course meal of my friend over my plate while iam eating!!?????? .
He didnt even have the manners of asking where to keep/ clear the plate at all.
the table was too small for four of us and that too was straight infront of the toilet!!!!!
when i asked for the manager to complain, other server came in to enquire and tried to suppress the matter!!!!!
there was so much chaos, i could hardly see any responsible person coming down to rectify/ apologise for the poor service.
NO MATTER HOW CHEAP THE FOOD IS, IF UR EXPERIENCE TURNS OUT AS A NIGHTMARE
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS

I've been to this restaurdant 5 times now. The food is just perfect, not too spicy not too bland.Whenever we feel like having Indian food while in london, saravana bhavan is the only preferred option for me and my friends. If you would like to go there, it would best to go during week days as its very crowdy in the weekends and, you might end up waiting a long time.

We had an amazing meal here tonight and well worth the journey from Hackney.
The food is very authentic south Indian/Sri Lankan food and full of very nice families enjoying beautiful food.
We are English vegetarians and have been to Ealing Road to Sakonis and Hansa's in Leeds and many more and we love this kind of food.
A huge South Indian Thali with Papadom, Poori's and rice + 10 different items in the Thali was £4.99!!! an absolute bargain because the food was just lovely, subtle flavours - just wonderful! We also had Chilli Paneer and Paneer Makhan at £2.95 each which were outstanding too.
We found the staff very helpful, friendly and attentive and with a soft drink each, ending with a fruit salad and 2 tea masala the whole bill came to £21!!!
The ambiance is not a first night date type of place as it really is about the food.
We will be back thank you very much.

Yesterday I had been to this place. I am really worried about their unprofessional service. I think ******* ***** has to do something about this, or else they are going to loose their customers to others successful competitors in Eastham. The price we pay for what we get is totally unfare. asked for Onion Uttappam and it was brought some half an hour late.As I am a proper Chenniate I know what is their Sambar, but the sambar they served me here is not of that quality they give in chennai. Please make neccessary changes. ********* ****** has good brand image but I am not very sure if its going to retain the same.I dont recommend this place. No value for money.Rest are doing well in Eastham.

The Real Madras/Chennai food. Authentic. I have been in their chain for last several years and several place (all branches in Chennai, Manhattan and London). Almost same quality all these years and all these places. Food preparation is precisely same. It is a treat for anyone who can appreciate traditional Chennai food. They are leaders even in India. Hats off to them.. It is one of the symbol for Chennai.
