The Pigalle Club with Cabaret

Was a little circumspect before going, but was pleasantly surprised, decor was charming and the band and later dancers on the floor were terrific.

One bad point was a table in the aisle, and had to badger a member of the technical staff not to stand near us and smoke.

Food was of a good standard ( not amazing but wasnt expecting that ) wines were the usual price one might expect. Staff were pleasant and not overbearing

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would recommend

A great club in Picadilly - I just celebrated my 30th birthday here and it has everything; glamour, sophistication and good food. After reading bad reviews of the food I was nervous on the night but had no need to be whatsoever - everything was cooked to perfection; loved it! On top of that the band were amazing, lots of people got up to dance and the whole evening cost us £50 per head which isn't bad at all seeing as we were there from 7.30pm - 2.30am. Try it, seriously - it is fantastic!

I'm not sure I can review this place fully as I didn't even get past the rude door staff. I called ahead to check we could just go for drinks on my boyfriend's 30th birthday, but when we arrived they said we couldn't go in just for drinks. I explained that I had called ahead and checked, but they denied any knowledge of my call and turned us away. I had been planning my boyfriend's birthday for some time so I was really disappointed, but luckily we had a dinner reservation at the Wolesey - a place where they know what customer service means.

What a disappointment. You'd have thought this place would be really busy on a saturday night but how wrong. The club lacked any atmosphere, the bands were fairly non descript and the food utterly terrible - so bad that most people left their meals. I was expecting great things but was left feeling very disappointed. I shall not return.

I went here last Friday 2 June.

The food was good, though not outstanding and a bit steep for what it was, and the service was charming. (which it should be at 12.5%)

Although the music was very good, the band was too loud. You don't want to have to shout at each other when you are eating. There was a very good female singer, who was nearly drowned out by two guitarists who seemed to be playing more for themselves than the audience. Chill it guys!

This restaurant reminded me of the service offered in China. Everyone wants to help, but they really haven't a clue what to do. Besides arguing with us over a wrongly ordered starter, we received the wrong wine, and they mixed up the main course. Apologies galore, but when you consider the prices charged, you expect a lot better. On the plus side, the food was good, and the decor plesant, although you still felt you were in a converted cinema. I wouldn't return.

Slick service in stylish surroundings reminscent of the Supper clubs seen in old Hollywood films. Dinner from a set price menu (£29 for two or £35 for three courses) was varied, well presented and tased great, though the Gingered Tiger prawns needed a side order (as suggested by our waiter) to make it a more substantial meal. The wine list had something for all tastes and pockets, our chosen Viognier was excellent. Service was very quick , but the food and drink were secondary to the great atmosphere and entertainment - jazz/swing band, jive dancers and Cole porter songs - a la Ella Fitzgerald.

Fantastic venue, lovely plush surroundings, HOWEVER, we ordered at 9:30, and got mains at 11:15 !. They gave us a free bottle of wine, so after loads of wine we desp. needed food. When it came, my steak was ... a steak, with nothing else, no chips, no veg, NADA ! No sides were offered or suggested and there were none on the menu. Hubby had risotto, so he was OK, but portions are not big. Well overpriced for food!

I went here after the theatre last night. Quarter to eleven, not really many places to go and thought it might be fun.

Unfortunately it was not that busy, but the service was excellent, the food was good, robust and well cooked. A not bad wine list and brilliant ambience. Live jazz band, decor and layout just like a old style nightclub. I don't like the little added charges for bread and butter, which isn't shown on the menu, or £4 for 10 chips, but these are minor gripes.

Go go go, make this place busier, its different, convenient and good fun, it deserves to be successful.

Absolutely cracking. I took my 69 year old father for what I thought would be a lovely night out with music that we both would enjoy. And I wasn't wrong.The food was simply delightful, the staff charming and the entertainment superb.

I would recommend it to anybody of any age with a taste for fine decor, excellent food and enjoyable entertainment.
