Durum Ocakbasi

Quite brilliant - we eat at Durum frequently and have never, ever had a bad experience. The food is always fresh and the quality is consistent. Watching the meat or fish cooked on the grill in front of you accompanied by a glass of the house red is great. There's a lot of it at very low cost so you may make the mistake we do and order far too much - never mind, they're always happy to put it in a take out carton if you like (not something I'd normally consider but trust me, it's fine here!)

Since eating at Durum, other places that serve similar fare (such as the Real Greek Souvlaki restaurants) don't even compare, particularly at much higher prices.

The surroundings aren't luxurious, it's a bit like a local caff so very informal.

However, it's best to book if there's more than two of you as it's always packed.

The noise the smells the hardwork all add to a special event. Take a pin stick it in the menu order and I doubt you will ever go wrong.

Watching the food being cooked is like watching a musician at play. How they do it every day I cannot say.

This is a first class, high quality food restaurant without the pretentious location or prices. If you are looking for authentic Turkish cuisine made in the traditional way, look no further. I cannot rate this restaurant enough!! Well worth the visit.

fantastic food, takeaway especially good as kebab wrapped in flat bread with loads of salad, garlic and chilli sauce. makes me hungry just thinking about it
