Been here a number of times for lunch. They do a great 2 course set meal for £12. Food is good quality and the wine list very reasonable. With a seat at the window overlooking the Thames, you can't beat for value. Would recommend.

Had a handful of excellent meals here on a recent short stay in London, it was my local. It's fun, relaxed, the staff are friendly and helpful, brilliant value for money and the cooking was way above my expectations. Across 3 or 4 visits I had a brilliant salt beef with dumplings and beetroot cream and excellent fish including sea trout with pickled cucumber and bream with octopus (delicious). Bread and side orders are well worth it too and the bar snacks are as good as you'll find anywhere. Wine tip - the Lugana Bianca kept me coming back, fantastic

Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with my boyfriend ans we meandered along the South Bank and decided to stop for cocktails and snacks.

Fab antipasto to share, then I ate a beautiful fish dish with pollock, mussles and samphire. My boyfirend chose steak, cooked perfectly. Service attentive and friendly. Would go back.

My mother and I had an early evening meal at this restuarant to celebrate a family birthday and I must say how disappointed we were. Although, of course, the restaurant has fine views and a lovely decor the food does not match up. My mother ordered a starter of crayfish and advacado salad. When it arrived it did not contain advacado and the "crayfish" turned out to be prawns drowned in seaford sauce. A better discription would have been prawn cocktail. When we returned it they brought out the same bowl, just with more lettice and sauce added! the main courses were not up to par either. The steak was undercooked for a medium (still bloody) and my sea bass was small and cold. We decided to skip dessert and leave early. They did knock the starter off our bill. We have written to them to complain, but one month later have yet to recieve a reply. This would be a great place to meet friends for a glass of wine but DON'T eat here. It's over priced and poor quality.

Under no circumstances go to this restaurant!!!

The Oxo Tower proper was fully booked, so I took 12 people here after a trip on the London Eye. The service was woeful, and worse than this the Manager couldn't have given a toss.

The attitude was very clear from the start that they didn't care, and the only time anyone got even remotely interested in us as customers was when I asked to have £70 of service taken off the bill.

Don't waste your time.

A spur of the moment decision to have a pre-dinner meal here and the Maitre-de allowed us to be "squeezed in" providing we were out by 7. We sat at a table by the service door with dirty bin and dishes going past - and that was about all. The other tables remained empty around us while we waited...and waited. A fairly horrible ballontine of quail ,over seasoned with slimey foiegras arrived. An hour and a quarter after arriving, I went to the maitre-de to suggest it might be a good idea to serve mains if he wanted us out in time. Three people waited by the servery and eventually tender but tasteless steak arrived with frozen chips (at an extra£2.95) and some tender lamb served with a black sausage (why? - a smattering of crisply fried cubes would have been far better). The waitress was attentive until it started going too slowly, the maitre-de was arrogant and irritating. All in all it was overpriced and fairly awful and we would never go back or recommend it to anyone. Without its location, it wouldn't survive a month.

What a great place to hang out right over the Thames on a Saturday night! I have been to the Brasserie on the top floor many times but found the food at Tamesa just as good if not better in some aspects but the main draw card was the price. Very reasonable given the location. Guess your paying for the higher views on the top floor? Our waitress was very pleasant and happy and the manager was quite attentive and he seemed quite passionate about which wines we should pair with our meal and made us feel very relaxed and unhurried. A pleasant change to the push push sell sell and get out attitude around town. I had the Lamb, my girlfriend had the Bream, both were very good and again, well worth the prices. The restaurant wasn't packed but it looked reasonably busy. Definately a place to try out as the weather warms up. MC

I organised an office outing to the London Eye followed by a meal at Tamesa. Everyone was very impressed, particulary by the food, service and location. In particular the Sea Bass is amazing.

We had absolutely no problems with our meal and would recommend Tamesa as an ideal riverside venue, particularly after a flight on the London Eye.

A group of 10 of us celebrated a friends birthday on Saturday.

Unfortunately we have to report that Tamesa is really not very good.

The service was very slow, could rarely understand plain English and the manager was extremely rude.

We enjoyed the starters but the main course provided an unforgettable experience.

Duck was terribly overcooked. Steak was cold. All was slow. The difference between the starter and main course Mussel option was around £8... for exactly the same dish - no joke!

When we discretely asked the waitress to ask the manager to come and speak to us he (after 20minutes waiting) went to the middle of the table and said so that everybody could hear "who has a problem with their food?". Really great way for us to let the birthday girl know that we weren't happy with the meal...

He then proceeded to be incredibly rude, in our face and completely oblivious to any faults with the meal.

We should have walked out and not paid. Instead we removed the 12.5% tip, had the steak and mussels removed from the bill and paid a cash tip directly to our overworked waitress.

This restaurant trades on its location and views. Charging £17 for a steak that is not only small and cold but then charging £3 per tiny side portion is a terrible advert for London cuisine given that 90% of all diners appears to be tourists or non-Londoners.

Please don't go here. It's rubbish.

We went here for our Christmas Dinner on Monday. Proper crispy roast potatoes. Beautiful rare venison although the veggie option and turkey were great too. I'd highly recommend it.
