Smollensky's METRO Bar and Grill (Sutton)

Recently had burger lunch here. For the price felt the burger was really small. Had to order fries as a side which considering the price was not good value and the portion was miniscule. Staff were good but pushing the drinks all the time which is a real bugbear of ours. There were more staff than diners, including the manager who was eating in the restaurant. Didn't do it for us, too expensive, too little atmosphere on a weekday lunchtime and although the burger was nice wasn't fantastic so will not return.

I have spent many friday nights in this bar, I enjoy sitting out in the small patio area under water proof canvas.

The service I receive is fantastic I do not need to go to the bar as the staff serve the drinks to you at no extra charge, obviously it's well worth a tip.

I have also eaten in this bar and fully reccomend the chips and Gravy lovely also the Pancake rolls.

I will definately spending more eveings in this bar.

Visited the restaurant for the first time this evening, where I ate a very pleasant rib-eye steak. My wife had a tired chicken salad with brown and wilted lettuce. The waitress explained, to our bewilderment, that the lettuce was brown because it had been chopped that morning.

That's not something you'd expect a decent restaurant to admit to, much less offer as a justification for poor-quality food. Top that off with indifferent and lazy service and you have a recipe for a doomed restaurant.

Shame, as it's hard to get a good steak in Sutton.

Stylish decor, good atmosphere, slighty pricey wine list, the most helpful and professional waiting staff, let down by mediocre food.
