your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

An absolute gem!

- Views of lads in their whites playing cricket,

- Excellently sourced wine list where literally every bottle (even house pour) has been top notch

- Food is fabulous with both tapas for light bites and carefully crafted fusion dishes for the more hungry!

Best recommendation I can make is that I regularly go back and never get bored of the choice and quality.

I was lucky enough to be taken to The Wine Bar and Restaurant recently by a girlfriend of mine and I have to say the food was exceptional. I can honestly say that you will not find food this good anywhere outside of London. But what makes it so good is the fact it has a really cool casual atmosphere - not like so many of those stuffy moribund establishments out there.

With a selection of Tapas dishes along side of a fantastic A La Carte menu you are literally spoilt for choice. I had seared Foie Gras with Poached Pear that is served with a sweet reduction of red wine and then for my main course I had a Filet Migon that is topped with a Lobster and Gruyere Cheese Gratin served with 2 sauces that are a Lobster Buerre Blanc and a Creamed Spinach placed on a bed of rustic style chips fried in duck fat - amazing!!!! And for dessert I had a very simple Autumn Wild Berry Cheesecake with was just out of this world.

Oh and I forgot to mention the homemade bread we nibbled on whilst we were waiting.

Also the wine list here (as the name of the establishment would suggest) is sheer excellence with a choice of wines that ar far from over priced just for the sake of it.

My friend informed me that they have just had a refurbishment and I must say that it looks amazing what hey've done with it (I have no idea what it looked like before)

And our waiter (a very attentive Brazilian lad) kept us entertained whilst he ensured that we were constantly looked after without feeling like we were being mithered in any way whatsoever. He also informed us of The Gourmet Dining Club which they hold once a month where by the chefs do 5 dishes that are perfectly matched to 5 wines (with champagne and canapes to start as well)

Anyway I was so impressed I've signed up to next weeks Japanese themed gourmet event. So i will no doubt be back on here and leaving another review. Lets just hope that it lives up to my now very high expectations.
