My husband and I were staying in a B & B close by Cyprus Mangal and ate there twice, we both loved it. The food was freshly prepared, and cooked over at hot charcoal fire, i had the sis (kabobs ) both nights, they had a variety of flavours and meats, the desserts were great, and the prices very reasonable. Wish we had this food in Winnipeg

Took a friend here on a Sat evening and we both enjoyed it very much . The food was lovely and there was plenty of it , we both had the Turkish sausage to start and the mixture of kebabs as a main corse , along with drinks it came ot £36 for the two of us which was excellent value. It is lovely and clean and you can see all the food being cooked I highly reccomend it

Was it worth it? Absolutely - even in the midst of the worst economic meltdown in living memory.

Having been a local Pimlico boy several years ago, I knew of the legendary Cyprus Mangal and the wonders of it's kitchen. Walking up Wilton Road as far away as Sainsburys, you can literally smell the magic, albeit if the wind is blowing in the right direction! Being a foodie, it was very much out of character for me to find myself hesitating outside the supermarket and deciding against my better judgement to indulge in my passion of cooking, but rather succumb to yet another quick fix of kebab heaven. I know the first step to recovery is acknowledging when you have an addiction - I can now admit that it became a habit.

So recently having painted the town red in the West End and now living in Fulham, even I was surprised when I found myself asking the taxi driver to take me to Pimlico. Make no mistake, I was fully in charge of my faculties despite a skinful of cheap plonk and budget cocktails. Despite the place being packed to the rafters, the maitre d' warmly welcomed me like an old friend (he used to be the guy who manned the grill). I think he was happy to see an old regular but I was still taken aback that he recognised me, perhaps unsurprisingly I'm a lot lighter these days!

Intoxicated by the overpowering grill I opted for the mixed kebab (grilled meat rather than the doner which is also quite excellent) and a pot of their tarama (taramosalata). To be honest the tarama is nothing to write home about, artificially pink and not a great deal of flavour. However, who cares about the precursor when the main event is still wrapped in paper and dripping unctuous meat and garlic sauce. The texture of the meats (lamb, chicken and kofte) are cooked to perfection, the deep smokiness of the grill is a taste sensation. My suspicions were confirmed when I went to Turkey last year, of all of the grilled meats I had out there, none came close to the flavour/texture combo I had grown accustomed on my own front door. I demolished the beast (it is huge) but there's no doubt that having finished it - I could have had more. I'm having visions of the stretchy Joey Tribbiani trousers from Friends.

Top tip - the sausage starter is awesome - the big negative is for four irritatingly small slices of it, you pay £3.50ish. It is good but not that good, but I really am picking at bones!!!

So the answer to the question is - there really is no place like home - even if it cost me an extra £25 in taxi fares - it was worth it!!!

One of my favourite restaurants in London. Amazing cuisine, fabulous service and a real local restaurant atmosphere makes any evening a joy. They recently added more seating downstairs so cpacity has doubled - but there are still queues out the door most night.

All the dishes are freshly prepared. Fresh meat cooked to order, simple accomanying salads and rice, with real authentic Turkish flavours.

My husband and I were a regular visitor to this little reastaurant in the past six months.

In our latest visit, the food (doner kebab) was horrible, the bread underneath was old, the sauce was too chunky and the meat was horrible. There was no meat actually, it was some other parts of the animal but meat. Although they knew we were regulars, the staff was very rude when we we complained about the food. I am not planning to go there again.

I organised our Christmas lunch towards the end of last year for around 50 people. The restaurant was fantastic. The food was served within the specified time frame and it tasted fantastic. There was so much food from the starters that most people struggled to finish off their main course. The staff was nice and friendly and joined in with the festivities.

I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

I was just in London a week ago. I had dinner at cyprus mangal. Absolutely one of the best restaurants i have been to. They had a yogurt drink which was ver similar to lassi, i loved it. appetizer was goat cheese with bread, for an appetizer the portions were very generous. main dish was lamb with rice and flat bread. a great value for the money and wonderful relaxed atmosphere. loved it and will go there again and again.

I eat at this place a lot. The food is amazing. It is with out a doubt my favourite restaurant in London.

It is spotless and they actually cook on real charcoal in a stainless steel trough.

The food is freshly prepared every day.

My favourite starter is sucuk, which is a spicy sausage grilled to perfection.

I usually follow this with the shaslik kebab which is essentially a bit of everything.

My girlfriend usually has the lamb chops on skewers which she says is always excellent.

We have eaten here a great deal and the food, service and value have always been excellent. Nice people to boot.

I've been to this restaurant about 4 times in the past 3 months as I'm in the area every Friday evening.

This is the best Turkish food I've ever had. Better than back home in Melbourne - and that's saying a lot. It's even better than the food in Turkey.

I always get either the Lamb shish or the mixed grill if I'm with my wife. Brilliant!!!!

Intend to eat there at least once a month...

The serving ladies are always prompt, efficient and good for a chat if you start up conversation with them and they aren't too busy.
