Strada (Parson's Green)

One of the better places around Parson's Green (which says a lot about the state of restaurants around there). Nice calamari on the menu, some good fish, and nicely baked pizzas. Fairly standard place to go though, you won't be amazed, but then again you'll only be dissapointed if the service is poor..

We've been going to this branch of Strada for many years now. The food was always exceptional. We would always opt to go there if we were going out for a quick bite to eat, and we were never disappointed. The service was always very quick, friendly and efficient.

We went there a couple of weeks ago and were so disappointed that we left before our meal was over (it took over an hour to be served) and refused to pay. We were practically ignored from the moment we were sat down at our table. It was not particularly busy (this restaurant was always full). We almost had to trip a waiter over to stop to take drinks order! Once we ordered our food it took half an hour for our very basic starters to arrive. My beef carpaccio was very disappointing. My husband's prawns were good. We then had to wait a further 40 minutes for our mains (pizza and a veal chop!) we were not offered any more waiter service and our glasses were empty for a long time and no one asked us whether we were ok. When the food finally arrived, the pizza was a poor excuse for what we were used to being served and the veal was dry and the roasted potatoes practically raw. We left so upset to find a local restaurant in serious jeopardy. When we did express our concerns the management didn't seem to be bothered.

I went up to London to visit a gallery and having found this place on this website I thought we would give it a go. I was dissapointed! It was very loud, the service was poor, I asked for a dish of olives and they never came but they were on the bill. After I asked them to remove it from the bill they did. The food was pretty good but I cetainly won't be going here again!
