The problem with Ping Pong brunch is the quality of dimsum, I guess. Nice interior, cute menus with creative cocktails. But just dimsum itself does not feel authentic.

I am far from a connoisseur of chinese food but this was dire - tepid and bland, I could not have opened the packet better myself. Two of us were there at 1430 one weekday afternoon, we had to find a member of staff to serve us, they were too busy cleaning, talking to a visiting engineer to initially be bothered with us .Service did get better throughout the meal though. We seemed to be an inconvenience, not paying customers. Independents for me next time. How this chain has developped at all is beyond me.

Table was booked for 8pm (you can only book for 8 or more people but under a certain number you can still order from the a la carte menu rather than their special group taster menu).

We arrived at 8.30 and they were fine with it. Quick and attentive service. Good prices - each dish does 3 people and we ended up only being 6 so it was perfect. Overall, I don't think anyone will be especially wowed with the experience but it is clean, tasty, efficient and fun.

Because you spend less time thinking about ordering and more time chatting and drinking it is a perfect - they bring you tray after tray of goodies and you can get on with enjoying your evening and catching up with your mates. A great idea for Birthdays and events (remember max 8 per round table). I will be going back.

Ping Pong seems to have received a few negative reviews but I would totally recommend going along and trying it out for yourself. I visited last weekend with 6 friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were well looked after by the staff there and were extremely impressed with our food which all arrived at the same time which can be a problem in some restaurants when there is a group of you. I found the dim sum to be as good as any I've tried in Chinatown and with this place there's the added bonus of fantastic teas and cocktails. We did have a short wait for a table but the bar area is great and who wants to eat somewhere with no customers anyway?! Delicious and I will definitely be going back!

WARNING - DO NOT EAT HERE - Just a short note to tell you of a recent experience the Marylebone outlet of Ping Pong

We ordered our juice drinks without ice but and were provided with drinks with ice. When we asked for this to be corrected we were given the drinks in a glass less than half the volume of the normal size glass. On previous occasions when we have eaten here drinks ordered without ice were provided in the standard large glass. One can only conclude that Ping Pong are so desperate to make a profit that they think that it is acceptable to pad out their drinks with ice. Considering the price they charge for a glass of juice cocktail (£3.95) they can make a healthy profit for pure juice in the large glass without reducing the size of the glass for an order of juice without ice. We were told by the manager that it was because of a change in the recipe! i.e. no ice - small glass with ice large glass!!

As a result of Ping Pong's "rip-off" tactics we walked - without touching or paying for any of the food ordered, which must have added up to approx £40+ of sales. We will no longer patronise Ping Pong restaurants or any other restaurants owned, operated or managed by Kurt Zdesar.

If you get treated like this I encourage you to do the same - get up and walk.

Very disappointing to see how the restaurant has gone downhill. It used to be a fairly reliable chain, not expensive but decent. The food has never been authentic but it tasted fine.

On the last visit, the squid and crab was not very good. Oh well..

Not sure if this is just one restaurant in Marylebone or the whole chain is not doing too well.
