Avenida Restaurant

Have been a regular at this restaurant for years and find it superb amongst a plethora of new chains. Speak to any locals in the area and you'll only hear praise for this old style eaterie. It has it all cabaret, dancing, live entertainment and home cooked food for £20-25 per head.

The service is old school with trained waiters and not acne faced young 16 year olds.

A HIDDEN GEM IN WELLING AND GOING STRONG. The new Sunday Carvery is excellent value and cant be beaten in the area. Highly recommended

Thoroughly unimpressed by this restaurant. The service was lackluster at the very best, to have to wait 5 minutes to get a waiter to take a drinks order is poor, and to have 1 member of the party get their food 10 minutes after everyone else is unacceptable.

The food itself was bland and unimaginative, and what's more was poorly cooked. A medium steak turned into a rather dry, chewy, well done piece of meat, which could hardly be identified as steak, it could just as well have been shoe leather!!

The atmosphere was nothing to write home about, it was ok but not fantastic. There are too many tables crammed into the space so god forbid you need to get up to visit the bathroom, or get outside for a smoke. The cabaret was little more than a karaoke singer, and she was a bad karaoke singer at that. Her idea of "bringing things bang up to date" was to sing a song from the mid to late nineties!!

Finally, value for money... well perhaps in that area £24.95 for 3 courses is great, I don't know, I'm from mid-Kent and most restaurants around here you could get 3 courses for £24.95 per person... what's more you could expect better food, better service, and to be able to eat your dinner without someone doing their impression of a bag of cats being swung against a wall.

Perhaps I'm being overly-critical, perhaps I simply visited on a bad night... I don't know, and I shall not be finding out as I have no intentions of visiting the Avenida again.

Been back to the Avenida four times now since our first visit last summer.

This place is a hidden gem.

Its got the lot, live music, cabaret and the best steaks and fish in South East London.

The staff and owner and his family make us welcome and really papmper us.

My son was allowed to chose his own fish to be grilled, which he thought was brilliant.

all this and and prices at around £27 per head..

Our Anniversary is booked at the Avenida too.

Excellent. Highly recommended

I found this restaurant to be warm and extremely welcoming, the food was also of pure homemade class and I will definitely be returning with my boyfriend in the future.

Excellent. Superb. An extremely enjoyable evening had by me and our guests.

The Avenida has it all: Live Cabaret, music and dancing, a big lounge area, a bar, and that that special something and attention to detaiul that only well and long established restaurants can offer.

We had grilled sole, T'bone steak and Lamb Shank Kleftico, two live cabarets, drinks and still only got a bill for around £25 each. Our waitress was excellent too.

We will be back. Highly recommendable.
