Nando's (Goodge St)

It really is depressing to type 'Portuguese' into the search field and be greeted with an endless list of 'Nandos. You might as well add McDonalds and Burger King to 'American'. Even Cafe Rouge is not in the list of French restaurants (thank goodness) but it has a fairer claim than Nandos does. I did go to try it and had the 'peri peri' chicken. But Nandos is a fast food restaurant with no discernible connection with the lovely food I have eaten in Portugal apart from the fact that there is something called 'peri peri' chicken on the menu - oh and they also serve 'Portuguese' rolls. The rest is burgers 'wraps, 'pittas'. This is NOT a Portuguese restaurant and should be removed from the list.
