Went last night for my partners birthday. Never been before and was really pleased with our choice. The staff and waiters were friendly and excellent. The food was superb. Great atmosphere, and even though not too busy for a Monday night, the atmosphere was still good and `alive'.
Would highly recommended and can't wait to go back.

We just walked in early yesterday evening and what a result.
Firstly the food was excellent and enjoyed by all. Then the wine was well priced and excellent to drink. But to top it all Mr Aldo Zilli was there himself, spoke to us throughout the evening and brought us a plate of rissotto (cooked by him) to sample and a plate of lobster raviolli to try. Neither appeared on the bill.
Service, good food and a great atmosphere.
We booked our company's christmas do whilst there.
Only slight gripe - £75.00 for pink champagne!!

I have eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere.
The cost per head is proportionate to the other restaurants in the area, while the food is better. A starter will cost you £6 - £14. Mains start at under £10 if you want a Pasta Dish to circa £30 for a Lobster but circa £20 is average. Desserts £6-7. The wine list is not huge but it's well selected and you can get a reasonable White for £20 a bottle.
I have no complaints on the quality of the food and would recommend the Lobster spaghetti. The fish is very fresh and the food is not over prepared.
I have seen Aldo at the retaurant on a few occassions which is nice although he was not in the kitchen.
The service is friendly and attentive without being pompous and overbearing.
If what you really want for your money is the experience of seeing how the other half live then Zilli will probably leave you disappointed. It is not Chandaliers, silver service waiting staff and it does not have a concert level pianist in the corner and perhaps that is why some reviewers have marked it down on value for money. It's good fresh food in a friendly light chatty environment.
If you have to entertain a Client or a Lady on a hot Summer afternoon / evening then you really can't go wrong.

My Friends and I visited Zilli Fish last weekend and we were thoroughly pleased. The service was attentive but not over the top and the food was excellent. I was slightly skeptical about all the fuss at first but this Soho hotspot lived up to its reputation and the money spent was well worth the delicious food.

me and my boyfriends had a horrible experience in zilli fish restaurant..the food was not good, very disappointing, the price very high and the manager so so rude..we complained that the rice was old and she said noone has ever complained about the chef and she left..people should learn to deal with customers..I wouldn't recomment it to anyone expecially if you're italian you'll realise how "un-authentic" the Zilli's cuisine is..

my boyfriend and i went to Zilli last year. i was very very please with the fish platter that we ordered. there was so much seafood on the platter that we could not finish it all, and that rarely happens. the service was maybe a bit over the top but the whole experiance was really amazing and i will definatly be going there again.

I have never bothered to submit reviews before but I feel compelled to after dining here – I feel so ripped off.
FOOD – My tuna carpaccio salad was 5 or 6 paper thin slices of orangey-grey low grade tuna, probably sliced and plated while frozen then left to thaw, which might explain the mushy texture of what little fish there was. My partner sensibly stuck to oysters – can’t get much wrong there as long as the oysters are fresh. Lobster with “home-made” spaghetti was a big mound of unremarkable spaghettini with about a tablespoon of lobster meat piled on a half lobster shell (what’s the point?) tossed in a sweet but otherwise uninteresting tomato sauce. And that costs north of 20 quid. At least my partner’s scallop risotto was a saving grace, with a few whole scallops and accurately cooked rice.
SERVICE – efficient enough but staff have that annoying habit of topping up your wine glass after every sip you take.
ATMOSPHERE – small tables squeezed close to maximise covers. Bare wood tables, wood floors, glass windows, metalled ceiling – absolutely nothing to absorb the din of a full restaurant so we could practically hear every other table’s conversation except our own.
The bill for 2 with a bottle of wine and water came to just short of £120, including (optional) service of 12.5%. I appreciate I’ve been sitting on prime London real estate but for that kind of money, I could have feasted on whole lobsters in any decent Chinatown restaurant. It’s really really poor value for money.

My partner and I ate here on a Saturday evening. The staff greeted us warmly and were attentive throughout the evening. The food was delicious if pricey (it came to £145 for 2 courses for 2 people including wine). I was a little disappointed in finding the restaurant was more like an upmarket cafe than a restaurant and the tables a little too close together to be comfortable.
One or two other issues including wine not properly chilled and the restaurant does not have a no smoking policy, which was horrible for 2 non-smokers with a table at the side of us smoking and a table behind. To be fair, the staff did ask us if we minded the people next to us smoking, but it was uncomfortable for us to be honest and say yes, with the people sat less than 2-3 feet away. We did say it bothered us and they left a few minutes later after putting out their cigarettes. Not very comfortable for us.
Another annoyance was no tissue paper in the ladies toilet. This was rectified however.
Dont think I would visit again, primarily because of the smoking situation but also there are lots of very good restaurants in London for similar or less money.

We visted zilli fish for new years eve, having read the reviews I was in two minds...
we decided to make our own call.
Aldo Zilli was in the restuarant (not the kitchen) it was nice to see him.
Food prices - high starters from £15, mains from £25 + cover charge and 12.5 % service(we had checked upfront it was a standard menu night)
The food : starters had crab it had a lot of shell in the meat.
The mushroom (single) at £14 was over salty yet nice! but for 1 solitary mushroom wildy overpriced, I felt.
Mains a huge disappointment for the price tuna chunks with wasabi was just that no veg/salad. Sea bass fillets were good if somewhat boney and plentiful served with spicy spinach.
Service lacking (asked 4 waiters for a glass of water and waited over 15mins for it)
staff are very friendly so these over sights are forgiveable.
I will not return since I feel other London restaurants deliver better food, service and ambience for the same price.
Our bill £125, for two with one bottle of house white and one bottle of water.
