I ordered Mussels, which smelt strongly of ammonia. I couldn't eat them. The crab linguine was much too salty and at the same time lacking in flavour.
The chocolate fondant, was over cooked and didn't taste of chocolate, must have been made with poor quality chocolate. Our vegetable didn't arrive. We did have a very friendly waiter, but the man who seemed to be the manager, was pretty unfriendly.
The food was very overpriced and not nearly good enough. We had 2.5 courses each, wine and tap water about £46.00 each with service.
I will definitely not be returning.

As a regular at Zilli Green, Zilli Fish was recommended as an alternative.
However, a few minutes in and trying to order, we were faced with the most hostile and unpleasant waiter. I was cut off whilst trying to place my order and was dismissed when asking him to allow me to finish my sentence. A while later my starter and part of my main failed to arrive, yet we were charged for these items. It took two conversations with the manager to try to resolve the situation, to no avail. We left having paid for the most unpleasant experience we've ever had eating-out. Never again.

I had a really great time here the other evening with my work colleagues. There’s a very relaxed ambience as the food was a great value for money and the staff were v. warm and friendly.
I tried the spaghetti with the Scottish lobster which was fantastic; Succulent and well cooked.
Overall, it’s a fantastic value for money and it’s very local to my workplace so I definitely will be visiting again.

Went to Zilli Fish last Sunday (with a pre-paid voucher... does *everyone* go here with a pre-paid voucher..?!!) and had a reasonably fun time. The staff were friendly and civil enough, and the food (four 'tasting' courses) was sufficient for a decent Sunday lunch. However... the weird thing (for me...) was how prosaic the food was. I'd supposed that the 'tasting menu' was meant to be a shopfront for the restaurant's specialities... something to lure you back for the full-price experience... but the whitebait were fine (but very, very ordinary), the linguine putanesca was fine (but very, very ordinary), the smoked cod was fine... but very, very... oh, you get the idea. So - not a bad experience at all (although we *did* have an embarrassing moment when we were apprehended for the service charge at the door... we'd already left what we considered a decent tip on the table, more than the 10% charged by the restaurant... so the waiter had to grovel a bit...), but rather uninspiring. Hey-ho.

Had the living social four course special deal with a glass of wine, the wine was good and the four courses really good - my favourite course was the smoked haddock and new potato one. the restaurant was busy but service was fine.

I went for lunch with some friends last week and had a lovely afternoon. I had the Chargrilled Swordfish Steak on Caesar Salad, which was absolutely delicious.
I found that the staff were pleasant, and the service was really quick! A very positive experience at Zilli Fish!

Food isnt bad, but service is pretty poor and arrogant. Had a special voucher pre-bought with them before, and they never kept the conditions they have promised on a voucher about the value we could spend on food. Was a disappointment for the money.

We arrived at the restaurant that we visit when we come to london, we had pre-booked for 11pm as we were attending a concert which ended at 10.10pm.
We arrived early and were told the kitchen is closed. This was a special occasion, a wedding anniversary and the booking had been recorded but ignored by the manager. we were disappointed and felt we had to eat quickly . The manager was quick to blame the waitress who had seen our booking in the book and was embarassed at what was said. The system of pre- booking is a good idea if the manager looks at the bookings for the evening prior to the guests arriving.

My husband and I had a living social voucher for so-called "gourmet" fish and chips at Zilli Fish. Our meal consisted of frozen chips and three small pieces of greasy and heavily battered fish. It would have been barely passable as pub food, but at a proper restaurant which focuses on fish, and normally priced at 18 quid, it was completely unacceptable. Although the Zilli Fish looks nice enough from outside, the interior is shabby and very dated, think frosted glass scalloped shaped wall sconces and drab white walls. Finally, the ladies' toilets were in a disgusting condition.

We had "gourmet" fish and chips... Three small pieces of frozen fish, frozen chips. I've had better in cafes; even my local pub does better for under £6. The service was adequate, but in a restaurant nothing can compensate for such mediocre food.
