Loved the food and the atmosphere. The service was a bit slow and they seemed to forget about our requests a few times (bottle of water, bill etc). The hot spiced apple drink was delicious!

Last Monday I went with friends to Manna Vegetarian Restaurant in Primrose HIll. Although a little 'off our beaten track'it proved worth it. We had a wonderul evening. A smiling waitress greeted and seated us, and we settled for an organic caledonian beer and a kir royale to start with.We followed with a gorgeous tasty gazpacho and tempura followed by a wonderful goats cheee poratabella mushroom dish and a chimichanga bulging with black beans and sweet potatoes. This we washed down with a lovely Pinotage. I finished with the roast peach brulee and my friend a lovely organic coffee.A lovely night out, reasonable prices and lovely service. We will return!

Food was very good - but the service was probably the worst I have recived in a London restaurant. We had booked a table two weeks prior to our visit, and arrived 5 mins before time. We were told that a number of other tables had arrived late and our table had been taken - we were asked to wait outside until they could seat us. 10 mins later we went back in to ask how long it would be - the waiter (the same one) asked who we were and if we had booked. He was about to put us on a table when another waiter arrived and said he had some people coming who had booked that particular table and moved us to another table for 4 (would have been fine other than there were 6 of us !!)
Later we tried to order another bottle of wine and were told to wait...while the waiter went to wipe an empty table !

I have been here a few times, but I will not be coming back. I go out of my way to Primrose Hill because it is a smoke-free restaurant, which costs me two taxi rides but that is OK. However, the last time the meal was partly burnt on the side and the waiter seemed quite absent and probably did not even notice. I just paid and decided never to come back.

A balmy June evening in Primrose Hill and a restaurant where veggies rule and the reviews are splendid. Sounded to good to be true…and it was. Sultry staff (you can ask if I enjoyed the meal or smile when you serve me if you like), mediocre food at best (although my starter was pretty good, but made up for by an awful dessert special) and more of a drop-in veggie cafe feel than a genuine restaurant experience. Oh, and the coffee machine wasn’t working. I really wanted to like this place but left feeling strangely bloated and definitely disappointed. Seems to confirm my suspicions that you are better off hitting a carnivorous restaurant with a decent (if limited) veggie choice than dining out where the omnivores rule the roost. Maybe the staff were distracted by missing the first of the summer sun but I’m pretty sure I won’t be giving them a second chance.

London restaurants are not known for high service standards but our experience at Manna ranks well below average. Several months ago my friends and I made a dinner reservation for five. One woman in our group was pregnant. When we arrived we were advised very rudely and impatiently that we did not have a reservation and that the error could not have possibly been the restaurant's mistake. My pregnant friend made a special effort to get to the resturant and was slightly distressed. The lady did not try to offer a later booking or any incentive for us to return to the resturant.

4 of us dined there on a Friday night. We found the food was of poor quality, and the portion size was miserable. We ordered fajitas as a main, and received only one each! We asked for one more each, and received this. We then asked for more, and received more but they were burnt, which was clearly evident to the waitress. The chickpea based topping for the fajitas was very disappointing from a flavour point of view. We also ordered the ravioli as a main, but the taste was over dominated by the cheese stuffing. We only recieved 3 pieces which for over £12 is poor value.

The food is ok - not special, although the presentation is very nice. BUT, the service is not very good. Definately more staff is needed: for this price you expect better than long waits, forgotten orders and waitresses who ignore you...

As a vegetarian I go here every visit to London. It is always a treat to go there. It can lack atmosphere if quiet but that is not often and the food more than compensates.
