Opening in late August, the Shrub & Shutter is a neighbourhood cocktail and snack bar on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton. It's the brainchild of Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza who have previously worked at Northbank, Baltic and Adam Street private members club. The food menu will feature terrines, tartares and carpaccios designed to complement the drinks.

Basement Sate

8 Broadwick Street, Soho, W1F 8HN
Opening in Soho on September 4th, Basement Sate is a cocktail and dessert bar concept from Cathleen McGarry (co-owner of the excellent Sherry Butt bar in Paris). Taking over the former Player Bar site, it will serve twelve unique cocktails and matching desserts created by pastry chef Dorian Picard (ex-Maze and Club Gascon).

Bo Drake

Bo Drake is an East Asian BBQ restaurant with chef Jan Lee (ex-Roka) at the helm. Opening in Soho in September, it will serve dishes like slow-cooked BBQ duck, kimchi and potato pancakes, crispy crab with aioli and lime, and pork and eel dumplings. A small bar area will offer a short wine list, soju and other Korean-inspired drinks.

The Alchemist

The Alchemist is an all-day bar and restaurant opening in the newly developed Bevis Marks building this September. While the bar will focus on creative cocktails, the food menu ranges from gourmet sandwiches and burgers to international crowd-pleasers like Thai red curry, jerk chicken and Japanese ramen.

Opening on the 8th floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the City this September, Galadari is a penthouse-inspired restaurant, bar and roof terrace. The restaurant will serve Japanese grilled meats and seafood, sushi, and light izakaya-style small plates. On the drinks front, there will be shochu cocktails, Japanese whiskey, sake, and a range of Laurent Perrier vintages.

Salmontini will open their first restaurant outside the Middle East in London this September. The head chef will be Esteve Prats Grau, who previously worked at Tom's Kitchen. The menu offers a variety of cold and hot salmon specialties, sushi and sashimi, salads, and Mediterranean fish and meats.

Chef Theodore Kyriakou (the man behind Livebait and The Real Greek) will open a new Greek restaurant and food store in King's Cross this September. The shop will stock Greek produce from small regional producers, while the restaurant will serve traditional dishes like Cretan deep-fried courgette flowers, souvlaki and filo pies.

The team behind Cay Tre are opening a second branch of their Vietnamese deli, Keu!, in Soho this September. Like the original on Old Street, the Poland Street branch will offer authentic banh mi, noodle bowls, salads and other Vietnamese dishes to eat in or take away.

After 36 years running Le Paris Grill near Fenchurch Street, the team are opening a second restaurant near St Paul's in late 2014. The 50-cover bar will offer lighter dishes, snacks and steak sandwiches, while the downstairs dining room will specialise in grilled meats and French classics.
