What I enjoy most about being involved in the wine trade is the way common situations can be turned into memorable events. I will admit that occasionally one can tire of relentless tastings, and this is usually when a wine of intrigue turns up, a character of immense storytelling prowess comes onto the scene or what was a perfectly well behaved evening can turn into a drinking / dancing extravaganza where numerous old vintages are cracked open. This is a tale of one such evening.
