This is a great restaurant - unique and more importantly, tasty! The lady who owns the place is wonderfully friendly and helpful. I didn't expect she would also feed me my first bite with her hands - it just added to the fun of the meal though. Highly recommended!

Had an excellent meal here but when ordering the messob be prepared to wait awhile. It took about 45 minutes to get served even though there was only one other table occupied. Also, we didn't get served coffee as it stated on the menu, we just got the bill. All in all, the food was very tasty. I'd gladly go back again.

A friend took me to Asmara last night (for my third Eritrean food experience and first in a decade) and it was delicious. Of the two chicken stews we had, the slow-cooked one was the most flavourful, and the shiro was perfect. We almost fell out of our chairs laughing when the older woman taking orders taught the man and his son next to us how ...

It's all here, the coffee-poured-through-hay, the injara pankakes, the masses-and-masses of food. I have never been to Eritrea but I am assured this is the real thing. The staff are lovely too. The best thing is the offal/haggissy stuff, but none of my friends, nor my partner, ever let me order it. A nice peaceful oasis in the mentalism of ...

Go for the shared feast (messob) you won't be disappointed. The food is tasteful and plentiful, service attentive, there's not much to fault with this place. Have been going here for some years now and not once have been disapppointed - if only all London restaurants could be like this one !

I go here quite often, and have done for some time. All in all I've probably eaten here 40 times. Almost every time I have the messob - which is a big sharey/eat with your hands/stretchy pancakes and variety of dishes affair. Its absolutely amazing: it thrills kids to have a go at eating with hands when normally they're not supposed to! Its ...

Went to Asmara about two weeks ago with friends from uni... the food was fantastic, the service great, the ambience soothing, and the setting fittingly simple! The lady who served us epitomised the gentle courtesy of the Eritrean people! I will definitely be back with friends in the next week or so.

I ate here in November and can highly recommend the messob (you may have to excuse my spelling there) - a great meal if you are the sort of person who can't decide what you want - several dishes piled on lovely pancake type bread and eaten with the fingers - heaven.
A throughly relaxing evening and a wonderful eating experience. I ...

The Asmara serves good, authentic Eritrean food (it's where the local Eritrean community goes for a good meal and they would know). The staff are very friendly and the restaurant has recently been redecorated, making it feel much roomier and lighter.
I can recommend the Messob feast, where your table is coated with large, spongy ...
